its great,it takes in less in a second.it takes very good pictures.its also quiet,and very lite

Great Flash

I've fired this flash over 50K and still works. I shoot at a high rate of 6.5 fps with an external battery pack. I have had no problems until recently when my flash has problems syncing up with the camera. Other than that no problems. Great features and controls.
Pros: quiet, Fast recycling time, great high speed
Cons: Poor Exposure performance, Poor build quality, falls apart, trouble syncing

Well Worth The Money

This flash I bought about a year ago for one of my canon dslr's, since the purchase its not sat alone. I practically use it for everything, great flash, only the best from canon.
Pros: Superior build quality, Fast recycling time, Good Exposure performance, quiet

Easy to learn best settings

I added a 580EXII to my bag which includes a 430 ex( second generation) I shot with a 30D and 50D...
The secret to both flash units...is getting the cameras themselves to work with the info your giving them...Indoors or out..if you target is moving...mount the flash...TURN IT OFF!!
go with the activity/sports mode on any of the better Canons..
It will force the camera to open the lens as wide as it should be...it will continue to shoot frames very fast and not add too much light to the shot...
as with any ANY camera body..the money goes to the lens...(GLASS)... strap a red strip on any canon...with the top shelf flash that even turned off...and you will..see better results
Pros: quiet, Good Exposure performance, Superior build quality, Fast recycling time, learn it and you should be pleased

Purchased w/ the new EOS MKlll's. No difference than previous versions. JUNK. Horrible exposures. Never consistent. Been a pro for 25 yrs. Not worth the money.
Cons: Poor Exposure performance, Slow recycling time, junk

problem is sometime my speedlite 580EX2 show TTL instead of ettl

Great Product, Enjoy it alot. Only thing Im not too happy with is the fact that theres not a specific button for alot of the features that it has. Other than that, Im very satisfied with my purchase.
