[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This KitchenAid blender replaced my 30-year-old Waring that finally bit the dust. My main use so far has been protein shakes/smoothies, and it has worked well for me. I purchased a KitchenAid because of my love for my KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer. Love that red color!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a blender for over 10 years that finally died on me, and in doing research I found this unit. It is affordable, has great features and is extremely easy to use.
Pros: Innovative, Performance, easy to use, Design, Convenient Features, Affordable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This .9 hp blender was recommended to me by a local authorized dealer whose expertise I greatly respect. He said it should last for years with only low-cost repair needed on great occasion.
If you don't mind keeping your hand on top of the blender during stronger tasks (like crushing ice), then this makes a fine low-cost appliance. The motor is so powerful and the pitcher so light, that it is possible the pitcher could jiggle loose and the coupler gear to instantly strip. If you are willing to compensate for this design problem by keeping your hand on top, then you will like the unit.
The combination of strong motor and light pitcher also causes excessive vibration that produces noise. Keeping your hand on top will control this, also.
Pros: Convenient Features, easy to use
Cons: Design flaw
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I registered for and got this as a shower gift. I've used it infrequently over the past several years, mostly for frozen drinks. Over the past few months I've been making smoothies daily. Well this morning the blender has become completely unusable. The gear underneath the pitcher is completely stripped and will not connect withe gear inside of the base. Sadly a cheap blender from Walmart or Target with the bigger clunky hard plastic gear would have been a better choice. Sad that I wasted a friend or family member's money.
Cons: Cheap parts
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Extremely Loud and Shakey

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This blender is extremely loud and shakes a great deal. I understand that it is a blender and therefore not a quiet product, but this is one of the loudest blenders I have ever heard. It is so loud that sometimes I have to leave the room in order to not get a headache. If I am trying to watch TV or something and my husband decides to use the blender, there is no point trying to do what I was before he started. You can't hear anything at all while the blender is going. You can't even hear when shouting (we have tried this).
It is also the shakiest blender I have ever seen. If it is not held down with quite a bit of pressure it rocks really bad. Also if it is not held down with enough pressure it grinds the bottom of the pitcher so there is black dust everywhere and is then even louder and harder to get to sit correctly so none of this happens.
