This was given to me in exchange for my broken receiver that was still under warranty. However, I was promised it would only take 6 weeks. I was told still waiting for parts to shipped from abroad. The store decided to give me this in exchange for my broken receiver. I must say, I'm totally solved with this.

I Love my Harman Kardon AVR 1510

I disagree...My AVR 1510 does everything I can wish for and more than accommodates my 200 inch, professional quality home theater. It works seamlessly with my xbmc based windows media center. I use one remote to access everything...my Android. This receiver is one of my best tech toys I own and it didn't cost too much either. Thank you Harman Kardon...You exceeded my expectations -Albert

Met all my needs. iPod line connection, 5.1 surround. 75w is more than plenty of power per speaker. Plenty of HDMI ports. Priced right. Lighted and glowing volume dial is kind of cool. Radio tuner built in too.

Excellent product

I bought this item recently an simply love the features. The product was very easy to set up and has excellent sound quality and great features. I use Infinity floor standing speakers and they sound great. Both my iPhones (5 & 3GS) works. I am yet to explore other features, but am sure Harman Kardon will not disappoint me on those either. The only issue was I found it a little hard to push the speaker wires (10 AWG) into speaker connectors...., should have used a thinner speaker wire....

Very pleased with this purchase !

I just got mine about three weeks ago. I was upgrading from an HK AVR 146 to a newer, more powerful model, so I already knew what to expect in most cases. I was especially pleased that connecting speakers was made somewhat easier on
the 1510. [The binding posts on the 146 were too close together for my large hands and fingers, mostly because of the very large number of inputs and outputs that
had to be crammed into a relatively small space.] Once the speakers were in, the
other connections were a breeze : 3 HDMI & 1 network cable in; one HDMI out --
nothing else needed.
Setting up the system was easy, even though this model offers many more possible
adjustments [NOTE : a certain reviewer complained that there were NO tone controls. REPLY : It is not HK's fault that you apparently didn't bother to read the manual. Present digital technology has obviated the need for large knobs on the faceplate of a unit marked BASS & TREBLE. The 1510's tone controls are in the SOURCE SETUP menu and offer the opportunity to tailor the bass & treble levels for each Source INDIVIDUALLY]
The performance is everything I came to enjoy about my AVR 146, and much more.
The sound through my JBL speakers and Polk Audio sub is excellent, and the volume is more than adequate for my modest-sized living room. I actually have little use for most of the 1510's network capabilities, but the vTuner for streaming network radio is a joy. Stations only 20 or 30 miles away were usually unlistenable, due to the fact that I live in a steel, concrete and brick apartment building which by its nature blocks out all but the strongest local signals. Now I can listen to radio from around the world with only an occasional intrusion of network dropouts. I am also very pleased that I can now play my collection of SACDs with digital signals sent through an HDMI cable from my Pioneer BluRay player, rather than through three pairs of analog audio cables and RCA jacks between the older AVR 146 and a SONY DVD player.
My only complaint [a minor one that's common to most modern equipment] is that the remote isn't very user friendly [which explains the four stars for the Ease of Use rating]. Truthfully, there's not much any manufacturer can do about that. The current trend towards smart phone/tablet control apps seems to offer a brighter future.
SUMMARY : I expected that I would really like this unit... and I do !

So far, it's an impressive receiver

With the assistance of the full owners manual, available only on-line, all available features are explained and this receiver includes much more than I expected in a very affordable package. I purchased this for a replacement to an older Bose Lifestyle system and I did not want to spend a fortune for a system that is used mainly for daily television viewing and an occasional movie.
The Harmon Kardon AVR-1510 has plenty of power and is loaded with lots of features. From the network connection to the multiple HDMI inputs it checks all of the boxes I had listed on my want list. The receiver is also very good as I live in a rural area close to one radio transmitter that usually ove rides all other stations. With this receiver, I am able to receive many stations with the included wire antenna.
The included remote control is good, but my Harmony is still the main controller. A couple of drawbacks with the remote include the list of codes supplied for other devices are not listed or are incorrect. The search function built into the remote did locate the correct code for my all of my devices. Another drawback is no lighted keypad as the small buttons are hard to read in good light and the instructions in the manual on setting up the remote are a little confusing.
For the money, it is hard to beat as it has so much more than more expensive receivers I have purchased over the years.
