EXCELLENT VALUE/QUALITY/PRODUCT FOR THE MONEY!!!

These speakers are a wonderful value, and produce the greatest CLARITY that I've ever experienced anyway with a pair of speakers in this price range. I purchased them for use with Sony's SS-CN5000 center speaker and another identical pair of SS-B1000's with my new Sony STR-DH510 a/v reciever, and am very pleased and happy with my purchases. As I've said in another review I love the complete system better than my father's Bose sytem.
What's great about it: EXCELLENT VALUE!!!, CLARITY!!!, GREAT for mounting on walls and for use with 5.1 or 7.1 sytems
What's not so great: Use with 5.1 or 7.1 sytem for best results! Though this is not really a con, anyway.

Amazing Speakers.

Bought these speakers to use with Sony receiver DH-520 7.1, using as front left and right channel, cranked it up yesterday on 2 channel stereo setting, the sound of these speakers just blew me away, i even had my sub-woofer turned off, don't need that with these speakers. These are some powerful little things.
Buy them, you can't go wrong with them. Great work Sony.
What's great about it: Design, Sound..... Everything
What's not so great: Of Sony products, NEVER!!!

Best 4 the money...

For the money you can not find a better speaker. Really your hard pressed to find one as good for 2 to 5 x the money.. With that said at lower volumes the sound lacks . They can handle a little power , turn them up.. Poor on mids , bass could be deeper ,fuller.. But the sound is good. A great speaker for small spaces lower watt recievers. Or if your piecing a system together on a budget..They make great surround channel speakers..Dont forget they cost 50 bucks for a PAIR... THEY ARE SOLID QUALITY,AND PERFORM VERY WELL..SAFE SMART BUY.....You will be happy....
What's great about it: Quality/Value
What's not so great: Performance is,nt 100%

Impressive Little Speakers
on March 9, 2011

I am using these speakers as the surround left and right components to a 5.1 system complemented by the SS-7000 towers and SS-5000 center channel.
These speakers perform well for this function: surround effects are distinct and dramatic. When listening to Rush's R30 concert on blue-ray, the ambient effects produced by these little speakers offers a breathtaking experience.
Better speakers for less money do not exist. Pure and simple, the entire sony SS-#000 series offers the best value in Hi-Fi speakers.
As a replacement to any pair of HTIB speakers, these are a fantastic improvement that anyone from the tech-ignorant to the audiophile-on-a-budget can appreciate.
The only fault I can find in these speakers is that they do not produce an earth-rattling bass, but this is to be expected with a 5 1/4" cone handling a broad range of frequencies. If you plan on using these as your main stereo speakers, you might find the performance a bit underwhelming especially without a subwoofer. Theyre good, but they wont produce the same sound as the towers in this line (SS-F5000, 6000, and 7000)
Also the 20 to 22 gague cable that comes with it is fairly wimpy and at approximately 6 feet doesnt quite reach far enough for typical surround applications. I threw this out and ran 16 gague wire to fix the problem.
What's great about it: loud, clear mids and highs. Low price.
What's not so great: lacks bass, useless speaker wire in package.

Ideal for small rooms

I recently moved to a townhouse, and decided to replace my floor-standing speakers with something more appropriate, and saw these at a store, and was really surprised by how good they are. Granted, I haven't turned my receiver all the way up with them, and they wouldn't sound quite as clear without my equalizer, but then again, not everyone is paying as much attention to those details as I am. I am something of an audiophile, but that's what my headphones are for - these provide a reasonable facsimile when I want it out loud.
What's great about it: Size, performance
What's not so great: Not for parties

This is absolutely the worst pair of speakers I have ever heard in my life! If your company cant do any better than powered subwoofers (yours do work pretty well) you should not even offer these.Hire somebody from Polk,Infinity,or even (I shudder) JBL.Sounds like Soundesign trash to me.
