Great easy-to-clean cooktop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cooktop looks great and is very easy to clean with no manual knobs to get in the way of your cleaning. The electronic burner controls are easy to use, with precise numeric settings. We replaced an 18 year old GE cooktop and it fit into the existing space perfectly.

Power Boil feature on PP945 cooktop

We just replaced a 30-year old cooktop with this one. We've only had it installed for a few days, and it seems to be working great except that we cannot figure out how to use the "power boil" to quickly boil a tea kettle of water.
Most important and disappointing, THE USER'S MANUAL FOR THIS COOKTOP DOES NOT HAVE ONE WORD ABOUT THE POWER BOIL FEATURE!!! But since the dual surface element has the words "Power Boil" written outside the outer ring, we assumed that the High setting on both of those elements would "power" boil. In practice, however, it seems to work only with the outer element, which means that it could not be used with any standard sized tea kettle. So I guess it will be great for boiling spaghetti or something else in a very large pot, but not for everyday quick boiling.
As an aside, GE's website shows in the product overview for this cooktop, that the dual elements are 5" and 8", but in fact they are 6" and 9". Since I have one small pan that I frequently use, that was one of the selling points for me; so I am disappointed by that misrepresentation.
I am writing this review in hopes that GE's documentation staff will be made aware of the fact that a selling-point feature is NEVER explained or even mentioned in the User Manual.
I'm hoping that the cooktop will otherwise be a good purchase, and that it will serve as well as my old one did. It is very pretty. :)

I spent the extra money to get the stainless trim. As soon as it was put in it had scratches on it and it still gets marks on it. I wish now I had not spent the extra money, it look terrible.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Beautiful Cooktop

We bought this cooktop for our new construction and it is a beautiful cooktop. We love that everything is smooth with no knobs and the lock feature works perfectly. Things burn easily on it, but if you keep up on cleaning it, it always looks new. Very happy.

Clean, sleek look

This cooktop replaced our previous GE downdraft cooktop. With no knobs and no vent, this cooktop has a beautiful sleek look, and is extremely easy to clean. Food heats evenly and quickly, and the same number settings produce the same heat every time! This cooktop is a dream to own and use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased the cook top on Wednesday to replace my old GE Profile cook top of nine years. When I installed the new one I noticed that the new one did not have a timer like my old one. I understand it is no longer avaiable. Same old story more money less features. I used this feature all the time when cooking. It will be missed!
