second time around was perfect

I have used a HP 5370C scanner for years. I had to get a new computer and had
XP mode installed on it so I could use my scanner. No go. About 6 months prior I had ordered and recieved a G4050, it sounded wonderful. I scan a lot of negatives and slides. It wouldn't work. It would scan a photo but it looked muddy and indistinct. I bought another installation cd per advice online, it didn't help a bit. HP cheerfully refunded my money and even sent UPS to pick it up from my house. That surprised me. I decided to try it again with my NEW computer windows7 and bought another G4050. I am delighted with it. I can edit anything I scan and save it however I please. The scan results are clear and sharp. I give this scanner a big plus. Now I don't mourn the loss of my 5370C.

Worked beyond expectation

I purchased this scanner to scan old slides and negatives. Many of my slides were larger than what this scanner was set up to scan and HP made no guarantees that it would work for what I needed. I just placed the slides on the glass with no tray and it worked just fine.

Easy to use

I was going crazy trying to scan all our family photos using my business "all in one". Plugged in my new HP and started up without a hitch. It is very easy to use and very fast. The 16 slide adapter was not only a bonus but is amazing. Great product for home photo and slide scanning.

I am copying boxes of old Kodachrome slides 16 at a time and posting on Flickr for my kids. They LOVE it!

This scanner replaces a previous HP model that I had used for many years but it was a 32 bit scanner in a 64 bit world and had to be replaced thouigh it was still working perfectly. This one does everything the old one did and a bit easier. Its very intuitive and works easily. I needed this model because I wanted to scan color slides and it does that well as well as photos and documents. Hook up to miy comlputer was almost automatic.
