Small but slow
on December 10, 2008
Posted by: Picture Freak
I got this for my birthday and at first was perfectly happy with it for a while but as time progressed I realized how slow it was. Of course it is a small amateur camera and has a great price but the price doesn't exactly include a memory stick. The memory card it comes with only can hold fourteen pictures, so you'd have to buy another memory stick which costs about twenty to fifty dollars depedning on how many GB's it has. Although it takes nearly six seconds to take a picture once you press the button, loading the pictures on the computer is incredibly easy and can be done in virtually a couple of minutes. Once you take a picture sometimes it does take it almost immediately but for the majority of the time it is painfully slow. It comes with tons of incredibly fun features and you can really have fun with it. I've dropped it numerous times sometimes so hard any other camera would have probably broken but it still doesn't have a scratch. It is incredibly tiny and I always carry it around in my pants pocket. Overall it's a pretty decent camera.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, slow slow slow!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Another great PowerShot

I dropped my older PowerShot in sea water, and I am very pleased with this upgrade. The same great quality I have learned to expect from Canon, with quicker image processing and longer battery life. PowerShot's size, durability and picture quality are really unbeatable when it comes to taking beautiful, easy pictures on the go.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, good battery life, durable
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had two Canon Power Shot SD cameras. Both "froze up" after approximately 18 months of usage. The first one, the SD100, could not be repaired; the second one, SD1000, I am presently waiting to hear if it can be repaired or will have to be replaced as well. Both models were good quality while they lasted and very easy to use; however, with normal use (as in my case), I would think the cameras should be more substantial and would hold up longer than 18 months.

Excellent pocket fitting point and shoot camera. Easy to carry, ready for action at any time. The quality of the pictures is excellent and it also has a sound movie option if needed. Holds more than enough photos or short videos with a 1000MB chip. Easy to upload pictures to computer, delete content and begin anew. Just wish there was a one click reset to default settings option without having to search the menu for it while in the field. Would help those of us who need eye glasses for this kind of detail work.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: Complicated controls/menu

The only thing I have a problem with is five times out of ten the pictures do not come out right, it's either blurry or slightly dar, you really have to have a steady hand.
I bought it when it first came out, but the price has dropped since so it might be worth it now.
I plan to buy another Canon, can anyone tell me the best model for taking great pictures?
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: Poor image quality, Poor Low-Light Performance
