How to make this really good camera better!

I love the little camera, but it's even better if you get the holster style leather case with magnet latch. And to catch up with those newer Cannon models with image stabilizing, follow the directions in your manual for using the "blue" button for low-light situations: it works!
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable, screen-image auto-rotate
Cons: small size makes belt case necessay

Durable, great quality camera!

I have had this camera for about 6 years now. I have taken it on so many vacations and other special events. It has taken thousands of great pictures for me that are sharp and clear. My friends and I have also had a ton of fun with the camera's features such as its "color swap." This camera also is INCREDIBLY DURABLE. Last summer I went on a water ride during vacation and this camera was in my back pocket. It was literally soaked by the time I realized it was with me still. At first it didn't work but two hours later after it had dried, it worked again, perfectly like it was brand new! I have also dropped this camera and banged it against things numerous times. It literally seems indestructible. This camera has made me a Canon user for life!
Pros: sleek design, light weight, crystal clear images, durable, great features
Cons: sometimes blurry without flash

Simply....the Best!

I have owned the SD1000 since it was introduced a few years ago. I have carried it with me every day and everywhere I go. It's gotten a little wet, a little dirty, the case scratched. The word "tough" is appropriate here. Battery life is exceptional; charging is quick and easy. The zoom is more than adequate for this type of camera. No....it's not a DSLR with a 400mm lens, but for most situations the hobbyist point and shooter faces, it works fine.
This marvelous little camera has not failed me once...ever. I have had a half-dozen digital cameras ranging in size from small like the SD1000 to DSLR wannabes. Not one has been as reliable and has taken such high quality photographs as my Canon. Buy the current gen of this camera, take it everywhere with you. You won't be disappointed.

i have had this camera for alomost a year now.. i have gone to many concerts with low lighting and if you choose the right settings the pictures still come out clear..i was once about 200ft away from the stage and i took a picture of the singer and you could see his glasses so clearly it was like i was standing ten feet away from him. i am very happy with my camera

This is a GREAT camera. I have had more expensive cameras, but nothing compares to this. It's easy to use, fits right in my purse and every time the pictures are clear and crisp. Comes highly recommended. Great too for the beginner or the slightly advanced. I rated the performance based on the zoom, if you pull it in completley the photos are slightly distorted, but the other quailities definately overwrite this downfall. Didn't buy for a the zoom.

Amazing Camera

There are so many features on the camera itself, and it takes high quality images. I have greatly enjoyed this product.

Great Camera in small package

I had this camera for several years. It takes great pictures and has been dependable. I carry it in my pocket all the time while traveling.
Pros: quality pictures in most circumstances, pretty rugged
Cons: action shots sometimes blury., low light photography not great
