Fast and Light Compatible

The Switch 8 has been cool to charge my dying iPhone in the car, yeah, but that isn't why I have it. I am a fast-and-light style backcountry skier, and I carry NOTHING I don't need. In fact, I often don't carry what I DO need. But one thing that often finds its way into my super-light plastic bag of a backpack is my Switch 8. For days when I expect to use my phone for GPS functions or my GoPro to record how awesome my friends are, I can expect them to die. With the Switch 8, I can toss my dead GoPro in my pack's lid, connect it to the Switch 8, love that it takes up NO room, and have it charged before I get to the top of the next lap. This thing rules. If it didn't, I wouldn't use it. I can normally charge my GoPro or iPhone fully and still have charge leftover to help the other product. I've never had them both die, so I've never tried to use it to charge both. I bet it could. Sometimes I charge it with my Nomad 7, other times I use my computer's USB port. They both work great. You know what? One of the 4 blue charge-indicating LEDs didn't work when I received it. It's the 3rd one of 4, though, so it's still possible to tell if it's fully charged. If that's all I've got to complain about, I'm pretty stoked.

I have two and have given two as gifts. I use mine to charge my iPhone, iPad and with Fire Fly as my reading light and night light. It is also my go to flashlight. Love knowing that it is also a good light source in an emergency when powered by my Yeti solar system.

Very Handy... and Very powerful

this is just so handy. how many times does your cell phone die at the worst time... we have 4 of these and have them in backpacks and pocket books etc... when charged it will fully charge a dead iphone 5 or keep it going for hours. this is SO convenient on soccer fields and baseball games etc.

I take it everywhere in case I don't have a place to charge my phone. Love how small it is. Doesn't fully charge my smart phone, but wouldn't leave home without it.
