The 12 yr old GE Profile we had was much nicer than this one. This one is terrible to try to keep clean. I liked the old one having more gray area and the burners always looked nice. At 12 yrs old it looked new. Also the knobs on this one are really cheap looking.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We went from an old coil type electric cook top to this, and it is night and day. This one gets hot almost immediately and cooks very well.

The coils heat up quickly with an even heat. The appearance is neat and clean. I bought it to replace my GE electric cooktop I had for 22years and was still working great. I replaced it because I am getting new counter tops.I am very pleased with my purchase.

The cooktop glass broke!

As we were cooking, we heard a small crack sound and then we found that the glass actually shattered. I expect GE to last for years, but this one did not even last 2 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
