SmartCode is well made and really works well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I initially bought two fingerprint reader deadbolts. They didn't work satisfactorily. I replaced them with two of the SmartCode units 4 or 5 years ago and have not had a bid of trouble with them. The battery life is surprisingly good. They work in extreme cold temperature. The finish inside and out has held up extremely well. Easy to use even when I don't leave the porch light on and it's dark. My family never has to carry a key or worry about losing one. It's also handy to let in relatives if we aren't home. They were a really good buy.

Love this lock

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am loving this deadbolt. No more worrying when a family member loses a key. It was easy to install. You can use keys if the battery fails and like most kwikset lock sets, it's easy to rekey all door lock to match. It looks great. I plan to install this lock on a couple of more doors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Never looking for my keys , locks perfect every time , never having to worry if I locked the doors before going to bed , gave my guests their own codes that I can change anytime ! Added one to my outdoor shed kids never leave the doors unlocked again !

We don't have to worry about our kids not being able to get into the house after school because the misplaced their key. The locked / unlocked blinking lights are great, from a distance you can tell whether or not the door is locked.

Great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a year ago with the bottom lock also. Both with the changeable key and 2 sets of the regular deadbolts and door knob. On the two sets, I was not able to do any rekeying, so, I rekeyed the other two to use the same key. I now have three doors that use the same key. We normally don't lock the bottom lock, so now we no longer fumble around for a key. As a matter of fact we haven't used a key in a year. When we need let somebody in when we are on vacation, we put a second code for the time period and clear it when we come back. No more locking ourselves out.
