My experience with the Epson Oerfection V700 Phoot

The scanner has worked marvelously for several years. It has high resolution, excellent color fidelity and is fast.I usually save the files in TIFF or JPG formats for use in Photoshop. There are important color corrections following a pre scan that simplify the Photoshop work. The scanner is reliable and is easy to take advantage of its capabilities.
I would recommend this to a friend!

V700 photo scanner

The scanner works great, of course there is a learning curve with it. For me a slow learner when it comes to electronics I think I did fairly well...it does all I want it to do and quite well...
My issues are most likely because I'm not doing something correct...for instance: color photographs always have a yellow tint or streak, I do not know how to get rid of that and the glass on the inside appears to have a film on it ... I think it must go to an authorized repair shop to have it cleaned... anyone's thoughts?

I HAVE HAD THE V700 LESS THAN 24 HOURS. OTHER THAN THE SOFTWARE THAT CAME WITH IT WAS QUITE OUT OF DATE, BUT WAS AVAILABLE ON THE WEB, THE SETUP WAS EASY. SO FAR I HAVE SCANNED ONE TEST PHOTO AND QUITE A FEW DOCUMENTS, WHICH I CONVERTED WITH THE INCLUDED OCR, AND OTHER THAN THAT TAKING TOO MANY STEPS, I AM PLEASED WITH THE RESULTE.
I would recommend this to a friend!

no pdf!!!

The V700 seems to be a nice piece of hardware and the software allows for good quality scans to image files, but it will absolutely not produce a pdf. It will scan a document, a note appears reminding me that producing a searchable PDF require higher resolution, but when you dismiss the note the Epson Scan program closes. I've searched for a newly created pdf file, but it doesn't exist. The File Save Settings the user manual promises never appears.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

software that comes with v700

I didn't think you would like my review. But I have to buy some software to make it work. After all the money I spent on the scanner and the software won't work on my IMAC is disappointing.

iMac and V700

Its been a year since I upgraded to an iMac from a PC and my old V700 works really well. I'm using Epson's 3.81US driver. As I recall there was some confusion about which driver to use but it became clear after a bit of research and a few false starts. Well worth the effort.
