I am delighted with this washer. Yes, it takes longer than my old toploader but it does what it is supposed to do: wash clothes. It is quieter by far than my old machine overall though there are several spin cycles which make that noted jet engine whine while at top speed. The clothes come out so dry that they need only a very short time in the dryer. I was worried about wrinkles due to the high spin rate (I hate ironing) but even the wrinkles are less pronounced than those produced by my old machine. Set up was a snap (by the delivery men, not by me!) when it was first taken out of the box. No vibration problems. This washer has more cycles than I will ever use since the normal one works just fine. The only problem I have experienced is the laundry soap drawer dripping a couple of drops (sometimes water, sometimes detergent--why? I don't know) on the floor when I open it up after the cycle is done (which I do, along with leaving the door ajar, to avoid any musty smell problems from a closed, wet machine). Not much of a problem, obviously! Bought this about six months ago as of this review. Oh, and I am a real customer, not a paid reviewer, salesman or Whilrpool relative. Of course, if I was on the take I would probably lie to you about it so you just have to take my word for it.

My friends and neighbors have other brands and my Whilpool by far is the best very quiet machine and the washing is super... I will really recommentgus product. My second one I have and we replace to go bigger size not because they broke.

too many bells and whistles

The washer is exceptionally quiet and the dryer also good, just less quiet than the washer. My only concern is it seems the wash doesn't have the nice clean scent of freshly washed laundry, as the spin cycle gets the laundry extremely wrung out, so nothing is left of the scent of the detergent!I am going to try using fabric softener as well, to see if that helps. It has features I am sure I will seldom use. I love the digital display knowing exactly how much time I am committing to for a cycle and how much time is left. I notice detergent left on and in the rubber ring around the inside of the door.

We had an older version but sold our house and buyers wanted to keep it so naturally, we stuck with what we knew and have not been disappointed. No problems with cleaning and it's even quieter than the older model. Pricey, but worth it.

I had an earlier model of this washer (2004 model) with the matching dryer but the buyer of of our home when we sold in July this year, requested the set be added into the purchase deal. We agreed and I went right out and bought a new set for our new home. Before doing so, I did check out consumer websites of other brands and found that my whirlpools were at the top of the list as I expected. Other brands had trouble with balance and wobble. The new one and the previous I had never have had this issue. No leaks after 10 years, cleaned my clothes efficiently. The only issue with the old model was the rubber seal mildew before I learned to leave the door open when not in use. This is common with all brands. Whirlpool improved on my new rubber seal with a draining design to prevent, I assume the mildewing. Have had it two months now. Clean as the day I put it into operation. I love the light in the drum. No more clothes left in there stuck to the top or back of the drum when emptying. I can see them:) And the drying feature is way cool for tennis shoes etc. Things I will not put in the dryer, just need to air dry them. And I have to say the price is very fair for the quality of this product when you compare to other brands. Love love my new set!
