I've never owned a model like this but so far it's proven to be a great product. I have not had any problems and love the fact that I can wash and dry my big comforters in my home, I used to have to make a trip to the laundromat...no fun

Really like this washer

We're a family of 4 and create a lot of laundry. This washer is working great for us - can do big loads, gets the clothes nicely clean, and it's super easy to use (we have trained the kids and they're now doing their own laundry - most of the time). So far, so good - highly recommended. Looking forward to many more years of use.

Problematic Unit, poor experience with factory service
on April 25, 2013

Having read the other review of the machine, I felt that it was a good unit. On paper , the wash has alot to offer. Unfortunately, our particular washer has been plagued with issues. It seems that it cannot wash a small load of towels, it has difficulty balancing the load for the spin cycle, and will get caught up in a repeated cycle of "sensing/adjusting" the load. it can take up to 3 hours to wash 3 bath towels. Factory service replaced the mother board since that couldn't figure out root cause. The repair did not fix the problem, but did create a new problem in that the Precision Dispense detergent system is not consuming soap. we have had to re-wash numerous loads over again adding detergent manually. 3 service calls so far have not fixed the dispensing problem, all in we had 5 service calls (5 days of time off from work) with not resulting value. We will have day # 6 next week.I wanted to share this experience so that people get the pros and cons of this particular product. We are very disappointed, and regret our purchase.

Energy efficiency and water temperature options

I have been using my new 4.3 cu ft Duet Steam Front Load Washer for 6 months. The energy efficiency of the front loader is important to me as I work for an energy efficiency company. Clothes, sheets, towels seem quite clean. I am pleased with the low moisture content (compared with my very old top loader) at the end of the spin cycle. It is fairly quiet, the noises it does make are different than my old top loader. I usually use the "Normal" setting, because it allows cool water temperature option.I use HE powdered detergent, and use the recommended amount. But I notice that sometimes not all the powder gets dissolved in dispenser. I plan to try liquid detergent.Important: I keep a dry clean rag to wipe dry the inside glass door and the rubber seal around the door. I actually pull out the lip and dry down inside. I really don't want mold to get started in there. I always leave the door open unless the washer is in use.Overall, I love this machine!

Good Product.

This washer holds a lot of clothes, it does a great job of cleaning them, and it is nice looking. It does have cons. It is very expensive. It is heavy, in spin mode it vibrates pretty bad and im worried it could damage the floor. Overall it is a great washing machine. If it last a long enough time I will but another like it or its upgrade.

Fantastic Washer

This washer blows my mind. When it is washing you don't see hardly any water. Just wet clothes rolling around. It spins super fast and when it's done it rolls the load around and loosens it up for you. No more tugging and pulling to get the clothes out. Clothes come out super clean. Sanitize and allergen cycles are nice. Long cycles but worth the wait. It even has a self cleaning cycle.
