love my new energy efficient washer. Only thing I don't like is it takes longer to wash a load of clothes in my new HE then it did in my top load old washer which was also a whirlpool. But I'm adjusting.

The Whirlpool Duet Front load washer is so easy to use. Extremely quite, energy efficient. Its great not to have to bend over to get laundry out, like a top loader. I HIGHLY recommend this product. LOVE IT!!!!!

The washer works well but has a moldy smell

The washer works very well and I have been very pleased with it except one thing. If you leave it closed after you remove the clothes, it has resulted in a moldy smell. I have started wiping out the rubber seal area after each wash and leaving the door open for it to dry out, which has helped. I don't know if this is a design flaw but it is very disturbing because I don't want my clothes to take on the moldy smell.

I love this washer. My old one was almost 14 years old. Wash machines have come along way! I have always had whirlpool, but they nailed this fine machine. I use my own homemade laundry detergent and softner, and it cleans beautiful. Top Notch machine. Thanks Whirlpool

Cleans better than my last front loader

The cycles seem to be longer in this unit which might be the reason for cleaner laundry. I love the light in the tub and the cycle signal. The controls are easy, and each type of load has very flexible settings for water temp, spin speed, soak times, etc. Looks great and futuristic. The only thing less attractive than my old machine is the noise level, especially for changing from wash to spin and the final spin cycle. Not so bad that it can't be tolerated.

Best washer and dryer I've ever had!

Laundry is no longer a chore, it is a joy. The clothes come out of the washer almost dry, so drying time is cut short. Amazing and I love the sound effects for everything. It even tells you when its time to clean the washer with Affresh.

Better than I expected

I had a lot of reservations about going to a front load but made the choice because I do a LOT of laundry. In my old machine 3-5 loads a day and in this machine 1-2, which save enormously on my time. I heard a lot of bad stories about moldy smell -- I've only had it a couple months, but no such smell, plus I wipe out any moisture in the rubber seal after each load and leave the door open - so I'm hoping to avoid that. I am very pleased with the various features. One tip I would give owners with children: the rubber seal is a great stealer of little socks. One suggestion for improvement: it would be nice if you could order it and specify which way for the door to open as with my small space it is somewhat awkward as is. This is my first "computerized" appliance so I'm hoping the chip lasts a long time :)
