So excited!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband has tried several different shaving system things. He tends to always avoid the old fashioned safety razor, so finding a good electric shaver that delivers time and time again is important. He has had / used 3 different rotary shavers and they all pulled his hair and are painful to use, even when new but moreso when worn. His first shave out of the box gave him a shave closer than a rotary, just as fast or even faster, and without the pain. It's also more conforming. I may update this review after further use but it as so far given him a very good first impression. Easier to clean too. I definitely recommend from all his compliments and all his handsome looks! I received this product for free from Bzzagent for my unbiased opinion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This razor works extremely well. I was always a disposable razor guy. After trying the braun, I only use this. Works great in the shower. Leaves my fave feeling clean and smooth

CUTSSSSSSSS

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was way excited when I way excited when I found out I was getting the Braun Series 3 for free from Braun®. I've always been a fan of Braun products. When I got the shaver it came in a nice package with the basic things the shaver, power cord, and manual. Nothing to fancy. I was actually really impressed by the color of the shaver. The construction was really nice. The plastic felt strong, not flimsy or weak. The middle part of the foil was a disappointment since it was plastic though. Overall seemed liked a solid shaver.
On my first shave I decided to try it out by doing a dry shave. I was extremely disappointed by the shave. The series 3 didn't cut my hair right away. I had to go over it a few times, and it still didn't cut all my facial hair. I ended up using a different shaver to finish off that day.
Second shave I decided to try a wet shave since the box says "wet and dry." I actually ended up getting a lot of cuts around my face and a lot of irritation when I used the wet shave. I was way annoyed by how much it cut me. I ended up finishing up with a safety razor.
In conclusion I wouldn't recommend this shaver to a friend. It takes forever to shave since you need to go over ones face so much and a high possibility of cut and irritation. I would honestly have them save the money for a better shaver that actually give a satisfying shaver.

Excellent Shape

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My past experience with electric shavers had been bad & thus I was a bit hesitant to try out a new electric shaver, even if it was from a popular brand. Still, my son forced me to try out the Braun 3040 Series 3 electric shaver & I must say, it took my heart. I had received the product for free by Braun for a promotion and my honest review. The excellent shape & light weight of the shaver made it very easy to handle.

lose Shave, Loud, but still have razor bumps

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this as a free trial to review the product. At first the box didn't look very appealing as a consumer. I didn't expect much from the cover of the box but needed to give it a shot anyway. The packaging inside the box was very simple: Styrofoam with the razor, cap, brush, ac adapter, and manual. I guess I expected something fancy since you're purchasing an electric razor. However when using it as a dry shave and shaving the same spot 2 to 3 times, the shave was pretty good. There are some stubble and razor bumps, but the shave is pretty decent. The bumps may be better when shaven wet I believe. However, the shave was not as smooth as compared to the Panasonic Arc series. I would definitely recommend those over these. These are quite loud and solid, but it still gives me a sense that it's cheap.

A really close shave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I have a electric shaver by braun but it is really old then i received the Braun® Series 3-3040 razor from buzz agent for free and gave it a try. I got a really close shave and it left my face feeling baby smooth. It works even if your face is wet and the battery charge is super strong and lasts. I love this razor and will be getting rid of my old razor and using the Braun® Series 3-3040 from now on.

An Average Razor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When it comes to shaving, the most basic choice men face is manual or electric. Manual is great for closeness, but it is time-consuming. Electric is great for convenience, but you end up sacrificing how smooth your skin can be. An until Braun offered me a free Series 3-3040 to try (in exchange for a fair review), I thought all electric razors were of the rotary style heads. I forgot all about the foil style razor! But that's what the Braun Series 3-3040, a decent, basic electric foil razor.
In order to give the Braun a fair review, I used it exclusively and put the other stuff away for a week or two. I also used it as I would any other razor, which means I didn't try out any features I wasn't likely to use again.
Out of the box, it's obvious the Series 3-3040 is a mostly no frills model, though it does include a slide out trimmer, one of the best protective caps I've seen and a good grip surface along the exterior. In fact, everything that's light blue is part of the rubberized grip, which makes it difficult to drop when you have wet hands. I'm sure it also adds to the experience of shaving in the shower or other wet conditions, but that's a scenario where I still believe that water and electricity don't mix and I did not sample that feature.
The protective cap does one thing that I haven't seen out of other electrics; it covers the power button. A smart feature when travelling, but the cap still pops off easily when the razor was packed in my checked luggage (note the cartridge does not, as that needs more grip to pull off). The slide up trimmer works rather easily and is also protected by a depressible button, so you don't accidentally surprise yourself mid-shave.
The shaving process itself with the foil razor was really fast. In fact, it was probably the fastest I was able to shave in one go. Unfortunately, like I mentioned before, with razors you usually trade speed for smoothness. My face never felt truly freshly shaved and smooth after using the Braun Series 3-3040. And my 5-o'-clock shadow decided to report for work early, sometimes as early as Noon. This could be because of a quirk where my beard grows in from two different directions, and the change of the grain causes a beard crease down my neck, but this razor never really felt satisfying.
As far as cleaning goes, the Series 3-3040 is as simple as running it under water (but the manual recommends with the razor running, which feels wrong). To finish the cleaning, pull the cartridge head off and continue rinsing. Also included in the box is dreaded and often misplaced cleaning brush. Honestly, by now I'd assume a razor would have a slot to store such a brush so it does not get lost, but I digress. Using the brush does get most of the hair out of the mechanism and the cartridge, but I found that leaving everything to dry caused even more tiny hairs to leak onto the sink and the protective cap.
All in all, the Braun Series 3-3040 does shave the face, but for someone like me you might need to do it more often than normal to keep up your look. Ultimately, do you need it done smoothly or quickly?

day two of shaving

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second day of shaving with the Braun® Series 3-3040. Wow what a great shave. I accidentally dropped in to the sink and got it soaked with water it still worked. They don't call it a wet dry shaver for nothing. I dried it of real quick because I am so used to ruining razors so it was more of a reaction. I still got a real close shave. This is one epic shaver. Who needs manual shavers, getting cut, using shaving cream. I recommend this
