[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first I'm always iffy but willing to try a different product. I was pretty excited when I received it in the mail.. This product is great. It gets a close shave and leaves my face soft and smooth. It even has a siding part that is good with edging.. overall I really recommend this product..

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I have been using the Braun 3-3040 for about 2 weeks now I tend to lean more towards using electric razors over manual ones because the cost of manual razors and their refills and they just don't seem to cut my facial hair very well, I could go on but I will stop there. First thing I was surprised about is the weight. It looks big and bulky but actually it doesn't weigh much more then any of the other cordless razors I have used. It also feels good in your hands and is not cumbersome at all you can really get a good grip on it. After reading the manual I was happy that this thing can be used wet, dry and with gel. I haven't used it with gel at all just seems to much of a mess to clean up and added time that I don't have in the morning. But I have used it wet and dry and it cuts the same either way I do like using it wet because it just feels better on my skin this way. I was very surprised that there was no break in period, usually when you use a new cordless razor there is a small break in period where your skin needs to get use to it before you get a totally painless shave. It also charges very quickly and surprisingly it is quite easy to clean by running it under water. My only complaint in the noise on this thing. My other razors are just about silent compared to this thing. Its so loud it sounds more like some hedge clippers you use on your bushes outside then something you should be using to shave your face. Even with the bathroom door closed it is still loud enough to be a bother if you are using in a quiet house in the morning.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall its a great razor for both using it in the shower and while having a wet and dry face. However the one thing I wasn't impressed with was the fact that it took several times to remove hairs from certain areas. I will however continue to use it frequently as I prefer this over a non electric razor. I was in fact looking for an electric one soon. Even though I had to go over certain areas several times there was no razor burn like with some other shavers
I'd want to know how other people faired with this same razor such as how it worked and reviews of the product itself.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was searching for an electric razor like this for an extremely long time. I am happy to say that I have finally found the perfect one!! This razor performs perfectly and gets the job done the exact way I want it. It is extremely easy to use, looks great and does an amazing job. I have gotten compliments almost immediately after I started using this that my beard looks great. Braun really outdid themselves this time. I would recommend this razor to anyone and everyone!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Braun Series 2 for two weeks now and I have noticed it works great on a two to three day old beard, but not on a week old beard. If you use this shaver every other day it cuts through the stubble with no problem and you only need to run it over your face a few times to get a nice close shave. If you let your beard grow past three days then the shaver starts to struggle at cutting the hair. There is pulling and you have to run the shaver over your face ten to twenty times and even then there are patches of long hair left behind. This is a great daily shaver, but if you are like me and like to go a week in between shaves then the razor blade and shaving cream is the better option. The Braun is easy to clean and does charge up fast which is very nice. The led battery indicator is a nice touch and takes the guess work out of when to know when to charge it. The Braun Series 3 is a very nice well made razor that is the perfect daily shaver. I highly recommend this shaver if you shave daily or a few times a week.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shaver is amazing.... I've tried many different shavers over the years and this one has them all beat. Leaves my face feeling super clean and soft. Doesn't irritate my skin which is my problem and feels great in my hands. I'm thankful bzzagent and Braun for letting me try this!

Ok, but not great on dry stubble

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Braun® Series 3-3040 is the second foil shaver I've used, temporarily replacing the Philips Norelco 3000 series shaver and disposable razor I normally use in my shaving routine. I use my Norelco when I'm in a rush and the disposable razor when I want a closer, cleaner wet shave using shaving gel. Most of my shaving needs target short chin stubble, since the longest I will go without shaving is two days.
I decided to follow the recommended manufacturing instructions and (1) use sideways movement, (2) shave BEFORE taking a shower, and (3) shave against the direction of beard growth. (I typically do the opposite of the first two aforementioned items in my shaving routine.)To test out the base capabilities of this device, I opted for a dry shave without any shaving creams or gels.
My first few experiences caught most of the longer hairs, but missed many of the shorter hairs on my upper lip and neck. I had to go over my upper lip three times to get all the hairs and ended up with some ingrown hairs and minor razor burn as a result. I've had similar experiences dry shaving, so I'm not surprised this time but also a bit disappointed. I rarely shave BEFORE a shower, since I find that a warm shower makes for a smoother shaving experience by first softening the hairs, opening the pores, and making delicate facial skin more supple and receptive.
The three "independently floating cutting elements" don't really offer much advantage over rotary shaving, since three mobile foils are not nearly enough to hit all the weird angles around the chin and neck. The shaver head is easy to remove and rinse clean, and the long hair trimmer works like any other long hair trimmer.
I've been able to get at least five shaves on a single battery charge (so far), so no complaints there. The Braun® Series 3-3040 is incredibly loud, so if you're shaving at the crack of dawn while your loved ones are sleeping be sure to extend them the courtesy of closing the bathroom door.
In conclusion, I'm not really impressed with this model since it takes twice as much time and discomfort to shave my chin stubble as a disposable razor would. My verdict is that while this model may be good for longer facial hair growth, its performance on shorter stubble is middling at best.

Great Shave, but a Little Noisy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to receive my new Braun Series 3-3040 shaver in the mail!
In the Box The box contains several pieces, including the shaver itself, a power cord, a cleaning brush, and a protective cap. The first time I picked up the shaver, I could tell that it was well-built. The handle has a rubberized portion, which results in a confident grip, whether you are shaving dry or wet.
Operation This is my first foil electric shaver, so I'm more accustomed to using a rotary-type shaver. That being said, I was a little worried that the "straight" blades would not result in as close of a shave around my chin or other curvy areas. The first thing I noticed when turning the saver on was the noise. It sounded more like an electric buzzer than an electric shaver. It's even noisier when using the trimmer portion. Honestly, the noise was a little intimidating.
The Actual Shave Despite the noise and my initial apprehension about whether the straight blades would be able to provide a close shave on the curvy parts of my face, I was pleasantly surprised after using the razor for the first time. The shaver provided as close of a shave as a manual razor, and the triple action free-float system had no problem gliding across the curvy parts of my face.
Clean-up Clean-up was easy! Since the shaver is designed for both wet and dry use, I was able to simply rinse the entire unit in the sink. It was a little difficult to clean the hairs out of the shaver using the cleaning brush, but after about a minute of scrubbing, the shaver was good as new!
Overall I was happy with this product. The only real concern I had was that it was a little noisy to use. This wasn't really a problem, but it could be a little irritating when shaving near the ears.
