Purchased this May 2, 2005! still looks wonderful as well. Was a family of 4 until 2009 and from then until now, 2016 I have had family live with me and a constant family of 3 and as many as 7 using it. The ONLY time I have had it worked on was my fault.. washed car mats that had sand on them HUGE NO NO~~ very happy fabulous for 11 years!! I know it is not being manufactured anymore but it deserves a review nonetheless!

Early tub bearing failure

Tub bearing is short lived.
Couple of years at best
Too expensive to have GE repair it and was apain to do yourself. ( I did would not want to do again).

Short Life

This washer lasted us about 6 years. Family of 4. Didn't overwork its capacity, either. Hubby had to make at least one major repair on it every year we owned it. Not easy to repair, either. Probably the second worst washer I have owned in the last 30 years. Cannot believe I am buying a new washer this weekend. Pathetic.

Lasted longer than any other washer we ever had

We bought this washer some 14 years ago. We use it almost three/four times a week since we are a larger family. Washer withstand heavy heat and humid conditions at our outdoor utility & service room and still function just fine. price when new was quite high but it came out to be a good investment. One downside it the motor, had to replace it once under warranty and the newer one was an enhanced citation of the original. Thus, no problems
