Lower oven temperature knob

The oven is ok. Here is a possible fix in case your control knob for the lower oven is cracked, the list for a replacement part is about $75 (really?). What I did was buy a washer control knob, part number GEHWE01X20378. On the new knobs, there is a metal ring that you can carefully pry off and put on your cracked knob. For me, it fixed it and saved me over $50. I use the lower oven once or twice a year, so this was a huge money-saver. I just could not bring myself to pay so much for a plastic knob that, in my mind, was defective to start with (it should not just crack being used a couple times a year).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the double oven

I like this stove as it works great. PROBLEM: the outer oven glass fell off and guess what? IT IS HELD ON WITH DOUBLESIDED STICKY TAPE...... Cannot believe this. New door is $320....... Sticky tape?? Really??? Yes.

Poor quality control markings

Markings worn off with common household cleaners. Get a new screening process.

This is a great range

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been very happy with this range since the day we bought it to replace another GE product. I was leery at first of all the bells and whistles (more things to go wrong), but the performance has been wonderful.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought our GE JB968SLSS (more specifically JB968SL4SS) double oven electric range in 2006 (it is currently 2018). We thoroughly used the stove top and both ovens thoroughly. Love the option of dual ovens and how the buttons/knobs are in the back versus the front.
Our one complaint is some of lettering wiped off / wore off within the first year (see photos). More of an annoyance than anything as we were still able to figure out the missing settings easily.
Unfortunately, this past week the upper oven has started to malfunction. The convection oven never heats. Using the bake (non-convection) option, the upper oven will heat up, but it takes up to 2 hours to preheat to 350-425 degrees. Currently we researching if it is better to try to repair it or purchase a new one. I personally don't want to replace it as it has worked so well.
I would recommend this to a friend!
