Great printer

I have had this printer for over 6 months and I really don't understand the negative reviews....I leave the printer on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week...I use it with my home computer so it gets average use....I have replaced the cartridges once...the black one has been replaced twice....I found a great deal online for generic replacement cartridges that were dirt cheap...but for just normal everyday home use I can't see anything to complain about with this printer...it has been trouble free since day one and is still going strong...faxing, scanning, printing, and photo prints, I've done them all and been VERY pleased with the results...for the price it can't be beat IMO....this printer is a GREAT deal!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had this printer since it first came out. It is good for home use and I hate the fact that people give it a bad review. For those who want to buy a printer for home ink printers are good, but if you have a business, small business, or know you will be making a ton of prints I suggest you get a laser printer. We have this one for home use and another brother laser printer for school (and trust me I am not talking about a page being printed off every couple of weeks, but 50+ pages at a time). So yes I would suggest this for home use, but not business. People with businesses think ink cost a ton so go with a laser printer you save and brother has a nice laser printer selection.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It runs out of ink weekly even if you never use it.
Product is so incredibly bad it won't even let you do a black and white copy if ANY and I mean ANY cartridge is supposedly empty. Most of the time the cartridge is half full but same problem non-the-less. It claims it is out of ink and prevents you from using every function. I have used cartridges from multiple stores. Same. Self cleaning of cartridge runs it out of ink as well.
GARBAGE.

Do not buy this product. it asks you to change the ink when the machine sits idle for a short period. machine does not work until you replace all cartridges, even though they are full. very high operating cost.
I had thee of them and pulled them all from all of my stores. I still have unopened cartridges because the machine kept prompting me to change cartridges.
The low initial cost is a trap.

Horrible Printer

This is the worst printer I have ever purchased. It constantly runs out of ink even if you don't use it. I have never printed in color but It has ran out twice of all colors. And worse yet, once it runs out of one color the machine is useless. You can not scan, or copy in black. The only thing you can do is fax. Complete waste of money. And I used to like Brother. I will never buy another Brother machine again.

Worst Gift Ever

I selected this printer as an Anniversary gift from the company I work for. I have had it for awhile, & just recently purchased a computer. I tried to print & it is out of ink. I purchased blk ink, but unfortunately, it still will not print. I am very disappointed with Brothers MFC-240C printer! This is my "1st" bad review :(

When my newer", printer, fax, all in one" broke down. I went and replaced newer with "old reliable, MFC-240C. This is not a wireless. Good for you. Thank you once again.
