Good Blu-Ray Player for a not-so-smart TV

Great Blu-Ray player to bring some 3D smarts to your legacy "not-so-smart" flat screen TV. Internet connect your Blu-Ray to enable a multitude of internet applications for your TV care of Samsung's Smart TV landing page. Using the remote as a mouse or keyboard can be painfully slow, I'd recommend a WiFi (or Bluetooth) version.

I bought this to replace an older Samsung blu-ray player. It was an easy set up (including the wireless) which I really appreciate as I'm no techie. Load time is very fast and performance is great.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, easy set up

Simple, sleek, versatile

This is my first experience with blu-ray and I have to say that it's amazing how clear and rich the images are.
I also really enjoy the built in apps, they make accessing things like netflix, Vudu, etc very easy. Plus it's very small and lightweight, so if we want to move it to another TV or take it with us on a trip its no problem. Good job, Samsiung!

Great features and value for the price

Easy setup and user friendly navigation through the menus. Although I was told that wireless keyboards and mice may or may not work with the web browser in this model, the first one I tried (a combination keyboard and mouse together as one unit), worked very well. I also did not see any of the problems that were pointed out in some other reviews I read prior to this purchase.

Compact, fast, edgy! a true technological masterpiece and a must for all SAMSUNG aficionados!
The Smart features are nice a reliable! you get a very good package for the money you pay!

Inexpensive Upgrade

I bought this as a replacement when our older 5-disc model finally gave up and decided to take the opportunity to upgrade our system to a smartTV system. I am using it in conjunction with a 6 Series 42" TV that is approximately 4 years old. So far, I am happy with the purchase. Though it plays DVDs well, the real value is the WiFi connection that allows us to view Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon OD videos.
My only complaints about the unit are cheap remote (the dedicated Netflix button does not work after the system has been in sleep mode; the button layout is not intuitive or functional at all) and the consistency of the WiFi connection (it periodically drops, but not enough to cause too much frustration (3 times in 2 weeks)).
Overall, I would recommend this to folks who are looking for an inexpensive upgrade that allows the extension of on-line viewing.

Cons: cheap remote
