Better than most

While it appears that many have had issues with their printer, I have had nothing but praise for mine. Setup took less than 15 minutes and I have never had an issue with Wi-Fi dropout. Print quality is excellent and print speed is exactly where I would expect it to be in comparison with the price paid. Having owned at least one printer from every competing manufacturer, I would not hesitate to purchase another Canon. The only feature that I would have liked to have seen is a backlit LCD display, other than that this has been a great printer for the year plus that I've owned it.
Pros: reliable, High Quality Output, fast print speed
Cons: no backlit lcd

Printed one document over internet and never again. It is hard to impossible to use. My 7 year old Canon printer is still marvelous. The MX 452 is a complex piece of junk.
Cons: Difficult to use, Difficult Setup, unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It keeps saying my computer is offline or that another computer is hooked up with the printer which is impossible since my laptop is the only thing connected to the printer.
It's loud, takes forever to start, turn off, turn on, EVERYTHING. And now, nothing prints, it keeps saying there's a paper jam. I tried loading one sheet of paper in at a time and still nothing. It refuses to print.

Great Printer - Ignore the negative comments
on September 5, 2013

I bought my printed a few months back and recently went online to download the printer drivers for my new Surface Pro tablet. I noticed the recent reviews were giving a low score and felt compelled to write a review myself. I've been very happy with this printer, great quality and performance, particularly given the low price. Installing the various SW and drivers were very simple and have installed on 3 different laptops and was able to print over wireless with no issues whatsoever.
Awesome Printer!
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, High Quality Output, easy to use

Technology that works for a change!

Have used this printer for a few months now in printing, copying, and scanning. Ease of use it pretty straightforward. Had some minor glitches getting it set up, but tech support solved that. Have had two other printers in the past with same desktop system. Last one never worked right, never. This Canon model works every time perfectly, no matter the program/page printing from. I'm not a cursing person, but the last printer made me one. This Canon unit solved that problem. Cartridge ink seems to last long enough. Print speed seems a little slow, but I'm only using it for the home so that's no big deal. I'd give it try if you're in the market for an all-in-one unit.
Pros: reliable, High Quality Output, easy to use
Cons: Slow Print Speed

WIreless Impossible, Bad Paper Feed
on January 9, 2014

I gave this printer to my daughter for Christmas 2012. Could never get the wireless to work. Canon's instructions for wireless didn't work or make sense. I've gotten difficult printers to connect wirelessly before, but not this Canon. So I connected it with USB. It did work for a time, but from listening to it print it had a complicated, noisy, slow paper handling system. Printer was used sparingly over the past year and started refusing to print after six months and less than a ream of paper. I thought it was user error [my daughter], but after trying to get it to print today, clearly the printer has the problem. It thinks it is out of paper--but it isn't. And the My Printer diagnostics can't even detect the printer, although Windows can. Just a bad excuse for a printer.
Cons: Difficult Setup, unreliable, Flimsy Construction
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
