I have tried the rug doctor and the hoover machines. By far this is superior, the design is ideal for liftlng off the stains ,short tubing to avoid loss of suction,and lesss wear and tear from harsh chemicals.slick design,wide path and large tank make cleaning faster. Common container for clean solution bag and dirty water tank is an advantage. This is a machine that passes the sketical consumer standards by all means.

I bought my wife -- though I'm the actual user -- a ProHeat 2X 9200 series at Christmas 2006. During January 2007, I cleaned the carpet in the entire house, first time it had been cleaned since installation in 2001. Considering charges by professional carpet cleaners, it was well worth the investment, did an excellent job, plus I could clean at my convenience and need. This past spring the ProHeat quit working, so we looked for another cleaner. After looking on the Bissell website, and seeing what was available at the big box stores, we purchased a DeepClean Premier Pet 17N4 (though we don't have any pets# on May 16. On Memorial Day, I used it for the first time to clean a guest bedroom, hallway and den, plus four small area rugs. It cleaned as well as the ProHeat, though I noticed a few pro's and con's. The biggest plus compared to the ProHeat 9200 is the top of the brush section is removable, making it so much easier to clean as you go and when you finish. The tank assembly also cleans up without leaving lint/hair stuck in crevices. On the other hand, there is no "rinse" function as on the 9200, as it has separate tanks for clean water and the cleaning solution. It is necessary to drain the cleaning solution, since it is pre-mixed in the clean water tank, and put fresh water in to rinse #you will be surprised how much more dirt gets picked up when you rinse). So you will want to have a resealable one-gallon container to drain your solution into, and to put any unused solution when you finish. The Heatwave system uses waste heat from the motor to keep the solution warm. I'm sure this is more energy-efficient than the water heater on the ProHeat, but I don't feel it is quite as effective. And if you drain the solution to rinse, then the solution is cooler when you go back to cleaning. Overall, the DeepClean does a very good job for its intended use. I give it extra points for ease of clean-up after use.

This machine did an exceptional job of cleaning the carpets, and picking up a lot of water! I'm really impressed at how quickly the floor dried. I also like having one tank to clean. My only concern is getting the hair out of the front of the deep reach pet tool. I rinsed and rinsed and rinsed, and the hair would not come free. Is there a way to take the front housing off so that the hair stuck on the upper sides can be removed?

We have two Yorkies who can be very hard to potty train, so we bought this to clean our carpets and it works great! Our house smells clean and the carpets look brand new. I would definitely recommend this pet deep cleaner!

bought it today and used it in den on 15 year old burber carpet. Carpet looks like new and it did a much better job than the steam cleaning people. I have owned bissell cleaners for many years and they just keep getting better. My last cleaner stopped working and needed repaired (the local repair shop had moved) but I wanted my carpets cleaned so I purchased another bissell as a backup. Now I own two. My brother looked at the one that needed repaired and it was just a small rubber tip that had come off the solution reservoir and he was able to fix it. My family enjoys being able to borrow my extra cleaner.

My home has the standard, light colored, carpet and it is now 7 1/2 years old. I also have two black labs (that shed) and seven grandchildren who spend alot of time here! I have owned several carpet cleaning machines over the years which were difficult to use, pieces of plastic broke off, and they were hard to clean. (They were not Bissell products). I was debating with having the carpets cleaned professionally (did it once and needed to have them cleaned again in a few short months). I decided to research carpet cleaners and the DeepClean Premier Pet Deep Cleaner was rated highest of all products I looked at. I went ahead and purchased it and I am very impressed. This machine is well worth the money and I now have it whenever I need to clean up the carpet. The pieces are sturdy and it is so easy to set up. Cleaning the machine after using is also very simple. The onboard tool is a godsend on stubborn stains. I also cleaned the seats on my dining room chairs. Great product, Bissell! Congratulations!
