[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used the Bissell Big Green at work before and knew it would be too much machine for home use which is why we chose the 17N4 model. In my opinion it does almost as good a job as the commercial machine. We have used it to clean our carpet and furniture and it performed beyond our expectations. Its size makes tight spaces like walk-in closets or a furnished room easy to navigate. It also handles empty rooms well as the width of the cleaner helps you cover the area in a short time. It does extract the water well, provided you follow the instructions. Our carpets and furniture dried in hours allowing use the same day.

All I can say is Wow! This beast picked up every stain. WORKS SO GOOD U HAVE TO DO THEM WHOLE FLOOR BECAUSE THIS THIS LEAVES A NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE. TANK DESIGN EXCELLENT KEEPING THEM WEIGHT ON HEAD FOR MORE SUCTION. Wow!

Leaks due to poor silicon seal on tank.

At closer look i found a manufacturing defect where what appears to be foil was left in the channel that glues the two parts. Looks like it's was designed to fail as other area are reinforced with screws.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Little suction. Wet carpet

I purchased the premiere pet carpet cleaner in September to replace a cheaper Bissell model because I wanted a larger cleaning area. This carpet cleaner has little suction and does NOT remove the water from the carpet. I have used the machine three times with the same result every time. I have gone back to a smaller and narrower Bissell carpet cleaner that has MUCH better suction. It just takes me longer to clean my carpets. The suction on this machine, MUST be addressed. Not at all worth the price!

Sorry to hear you had some trouble with the cleaner! It's possible the tank was not on correctly or the front nozzle may have been misaligned as you should have great suction with this machine.

Collection basin splits at seams about a year after purchase

Works great for the first year. Collection basin splits at the bottom seam at about one year in. Would not buy again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine cleaned my carpet better than any other carpet shampooer I've used. I didn't have to empty the water as often as with other cleaners. I especially like the Clean Shot device for spot cleaning the tough stains. The only minor drawback is that the machine is heavy and bulky. But it does a GREAT job of cleaning. It's well worth the purchase.

This is my 5th or so Bissell carpet cleaner and I have only had it for 9 months and it won't spray any longer either out of the bottom of the machine or the hand tools. Did what the troubleshooting stated and it still won't work. The last Bissell pet carpet cleaner i had worked wonderful for a very long time with alot of use. Not sure why this one stopped working. I would usually recommend Bissell but not with this one. Very upset with it not working when I needed it.
