I received my Bissell carpet cleaner a few weeks ago. One month prior to receiving it I had my carpets professionally cleaned by a local company so figured they would be clean for awhile. I was excited to use my new cleaner so I went ahead and used it on a bedroom carpet in which the room is not being used. To my surprise when I dumped the water into the sink it was very dirty. Needless to say I will NOT be using a cleaning company in the future but WILL be using my new Bissell cleaner!!!

I was getting so tired of hiring a professional to clean my carpets as I live in the foothills of Colorado and it can be a problem finding someone to do them. As I have 2 small dogs and 5 cats my carpets become disgusting in a short period of time after a professional cleaning so I thought I am going to buy a steam cleaner. When I saw this cleaner especially targeting the pet I was excited but also cautious as I had purchased a Bissell carpet cleaner years ago and did not have good luck with that cleaner. I purchased this yesterday and my husband and I went to work and was truly amazed at how great my carpets look. I had a lot of old pet stains that would show through even after it was professionally cleaned and was expecting them to rear their ugly heads again but am so happy with the results. After doing an area that was pretty soiled I pretreated a few spots to see if they would disappear and they did. So from now on when I have a spot I will pretreat it right before the cleaning. Only the first use but am very satisfied and hope this machine continues to give me the results that we had today....

I use this cleaner when my dog has an accident, (urine). As I use it, it seems to leak, leaving an area of sudsy-looking water every time I change direction front to back. I only use warm water...no cleaning chemicals. It is very hard to clean thoroughly, and it smells, even if I do everything I can to clean every available part. Pet hair does not make it up to the little screen that is supposed to capture pet hair. Instead, pet hair wads up behind the carpet agitator rollers. Disappointing. It is also on the heavy side if you need to take it up stairs. It weighs almost 25 pounds.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love my Bissell carpet cleaner. Glad I upgrade from the cheaper model that did not get the scent of dog urine out of the carpet and constantly clogged with hair and was difficult to clean out. The old one did not last a year and I never registered it and tried to fix ourselves but did not work. Upgraded and works 100 times better. Only complaint is the short cord on it. This model has none of the issues of the cheaper model. It's worth the investment and you get what you pay for.

This is the first carpet cleaner I have owned and I love it. It works well, is easy to take apart to clean after use, and gets my carpet looking nice! I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 kids. So there's a lot of traffic in my house. I would definitely recommend buying this machine.

Broke just after a year

The rug shampooer broke just a couple of weeks after a year we bought it. We used it probably 10-12 times and it worked fine. We attempted to use it a few weeks later on a room we didn't shampoo when we did the others and It had power but it leaked water and there was no suction. We checked everything and cleaned everything, but it did the same thing! I have a hand held spot cleaner if needed. It's just my husband,me, and our dog, so not a lot of traffic through the house. I'm not sure if I would recommend this to a friend or not.

water problem

This is the best carpet cleaner I've owed. I have a problem that I don't understand. Every so often the machine will stop putting down any water. The tank still has water in it. I have to power off and take the green part off the tank then replace it. After this, The machine will work fine. Am I doing something wrong? Sometimes I have to do this 2 or 3 times to a tank full. Any ideas?

Wished we would have purchased this item years ago. Easy to use and does a great job of cleaning. We have no pets but we purchased this unit because of the price. Cleaned our carpet and furniture, looks really good. Wished the electric cord was a little longer but not that big of an issue. Would recommend this product to buy
