Bought 17N4 in Nov 2013. Finally used it today20 May 2014. I live in the country and I track dirt/grit onto the carpet creating dirt trails on the carpet. The unit functioned as good as the commercial units I have been renting. So I'M satisfied with the cleaning. What I don't like is that the unit is a pain to clean, the easy to remove nozzle is not easy to clean.

Thanks for your review. It's good to know you do like your deep cleaner. With the water tank removed from the machine; just twist the black tabs to remove the floor nozzle. The nozzle can be washed in warm tap water and mild detergent.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wish I could give a better review but sorry. I started by doing half of my living room following the instruction manual and it took over 12 hours to dry. I really believe the problem is not enough vacuum. I did notice the tank sometimes would not nest on the vacuum tube and would lose vacuum. I did use the attachments and it worked well. The second half I only used the spray on the pull back motion but still took 6 hours to dry and I felt it didn't clean as well as doing what the instructions say to do.

Hi Randy - when cleaning, you'll want to spray as you move forward and suction as you move back over the spot. Depending on your carpet type, you may want to perform additional suction only passes to remove excess water from your carpets. Hope this helps!

This is our 2nd Bissell rug shampooer. Our first one still works fine but we decided it was time for a new one that you don't have to hook to the hot water faucet. Our original one has lasted since 1983. Hard to believe! This one did a very good job and we are pleased with it. Bissell makes great products. We also recently bought a Bissell vacuum which we also like.

Really Like One-Piece Design

Had a very old Bissell before. The tank and the Wand were two separate pieces. Had to press down hard with the wand to suck all the water out of the carpet. This tired the arm out. The new model puts all the "Weight" of the Unit and the WATER where you want it. The Weight does the job of pressing down for you. Arm doesn't tire out as easily.

Review For: Bissell DeepClean Premier Pet Deep Cleaner: WOW! I've been waiting for Bissell to launch their new machines. I ordered the DeepClean Premier Pet Deep Cleaner the day the new products launched. I have a Bissell ProHeat 2x Pet machine as well. I will give that to my brother and I will keep the new Premier Deep Cleaner. I put the new machine to the test tonight. I have a 5'x7' white area rug in my bedroom. I also have three dogs and two cats. I vacuumed it thoroughly to pick up the hair. I intentionally poured an entire 20oz bottle of soda pop all over the rug. :) Oh yes I did. I used the Pet Stain & Order formula that came with the unit. I did not pretreat the soda stain. I used one, slow, forward wet pass and one, slow, backward wet pass, followed by three dry passes until the entire carpet was cleaned. I also performed a thorough water rinse afterward. The Premier Deep Cleaner picked up every ounce of soda as well as whatever else was lurking in the carpet fibers. I knew my ProHeat 2x Pet machine would have done the job too, but I wanted to put my new machine to the test. Needless to say, it passed with flying colors!! Pros: 1). Extra-large water tanks - EXCELLENT 2). Strong and sturdy construction as well as appealing accents and designs 3). Heatwave Technology that keeps the water hot 4). Fast-drying 5). Easy to maneuver 6). Awesome (AWESOME) suction 7). Powerful dual rotating brushes 8). Easy clean-up process 9). Easy assembly 10). Great attachments Cons: 1. I do miss the water heater that actually heats the water up to 25% more, like the ProHeat 2x. You will want to make sure that you use hot water and use the machine right away so the machine can keep the water hot. 2. That's it! Seriously, this is a great machine. I can't wait until I get to use it again. I may have to smear ketchup all over the rug just so I have an excuse to use it again. :-) In summation, the DeepClean Premier Pet Deep Cleaner is an excellent machine to keep your carpets and rugs clean, especially if you have pets. I have several Bissell 2x formulas, but I like the performance and smell of the Pet Stain & Order. Happy cleaning!

This has got to be the best shampooer I've owned. I always stick to bissell but all of that I have owned, this is by far the best. It's amazing how clean your carpets get and how dry the rug is after your done. The cleanup is so easy. Bissell makes it easy to clean the shampooer when your done. I highly recommend this shampooer. And will always stick to bissell.

Comment on clean vs dirty water

I actually have just bought the 36z9 model and noticed an issue right off the bat. I was done cleaning and wanted to save my water/solution mix in a jug for next time since I only cleaned a small area. Trying to get the dirty water out and get the clean water/solution mix out into a container was horrible. I think there needs to be a way to drain out the dirty water w/o losing the clean. Funny thing is a reviewer noted this back in 2013 and Bissell said they'd come up with a solution. It's 2016 and I was wondering if there is a plug I can buy to cap off the clean water while dumping the dirty or what Bissell came up with. ---------------------------------------------------------- Lisa, Consumer Care November 18, 2013 Thanks for your feedback.
