[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace a 20 Bissell that I owned. The vacuum doesn't seem as durable than my last one but for the price that isn't really an issue. The vacuum works beautifully, I like emptying the canister rather than having a vacuum bag. The only thing I would change is making the hose more flexible and the hard plastic attached you put on it LONGER, they were longer in my old Bissell. Also the on/off switch would be better place higher up on the handle. But as a vacuum goes, it does what its supposed to and the price was great.

I have had my 9595 Bissell vacuum for over 8 years. It is still going strong when I take care of it. Mine looks like the dusty dirty one on the review page. That's why I'm writing this review. I'm 70 years old full time working nurse. I don't vacuum daily any more due to a busy life. I have an Akita double thick fur dog. She gets a thicker coat in the Winter and sheds in Spring and Summer with loose hair and clumps of fur. I do have to empty the canister about 5 times with just doing the living room. I don't have a problem with stuff getting stuck around the roller brush. But it sucks the hair, dirt and everything else without a problem unless I don't clean the filters, which I don't do very often! When the filters are dirty the hair gets stuck around the inside spinning thing and stops spinning. You just push the button to empty the canister and reach inside and twist the thing to the left and pull out. the stuck fur/hair falls right off. Some people may think that is a pain to do. If you are one of them, then clean the filters. I have only cleaned the filters about 3 times. I know that is bad and should clean more often .I just cleaned them this morning. I discovered that the filter is yellow and not brown after washing it! While waiting for them to dry decided to check out possibly buying a new vacuum, possibly one designed specifically for pet hair. I've decided I don't need a new one, I just need to clean filters maybe every 3 months instead of every few years, lol. I read the negative reviews on several different models. My advise to all the negative reviews is to take care of your vacuum and clean the filters and do the suggested problem checks before complaining! I'm looking forward to keeping this vacuum for another 8 or more years! Thank you Bissell!

I just bought this today and we , should be a product tester as we live on a farm and are hard on products and this vacuum fits the bill, love it and am amazed by it and am so darn glad that i bought it :) I own the bissell rug shampooer and i love it as well !!!!!!!!!!!!! can t go wrong with bissell , the only thing i wish is that the pwr cord was longer :)

It is very light to handle, easy to carry up stairs and very light to Vaccum around the house. It is easy to maintain too. I have a two story home and use this Vaccum for only downstairs. I have another brand up stairs.

Love it! I have a dog,cat & kids and this totally helps to keep the house clean. My 7 yr old uses it no problem. I wish the extended hose was placed differently (keeps popping off) but overall is a great vacuum!

After being notified that the machine was being shipped, my wife vacuumed the carpets with our old very reliable machine. The new Bissell arrived in three days and I began the assembly process, which surprisingly took only about ten minutes. We then revacuumed the den and livingroom and was shocked at what had been left behind by old reliable. We have a small young puppy who seems to be shedding her winter coat, mostly on our den sofa. Using the hand held attachment the sofa was cleared of puppy hair in short order. Storage for all attachments is conveinient. I have always been impressed with Bissells' products and am extremely surprised at the quality of this machine based on its cost. I highly recommend...
