Unpacked, assembled, tryed it out and I was so impressed, I thought my rugs were already clean... It filled the dirt container half way and empting it is even easier, very happy with vacuum.

Great vacuum, poorly constructed

I've had my vacuum for exactly one month today, and the vacuum itself is awesome at cleaning the floors, but I'm having issues with mine, firstly the front filter under the canister keeps popping out while vacuuming, second hair gets clogged in the belt requiring me to take off the bottom template and clean out the belt guide path and the filters require care far to often, all in all I'm not happy with the purchase. I was actually sold on the fact that is was better than a Dyson, which it seems so, just not constructed as well as one.

Thank you for your review. With heavy hair and debris the brush needs to be cleaned often as well as the filters. Started squeaking after 4 months

This vacuum was awesome at first, but after 4 months of having it, it started making squeaking noises like its going to fall apart. Doesn't vacuum well over hard floor, only carpet.

Happy while it lasted, less than 6 months and kaput

When I bought this vacuum I was happy with it's operation. I have kittens that like to make sure their business is covered, which means my floor is usually covered as well. I vacuum quite often for that reason. I had a Bissell prior to this one, and that one had a reasonably good life, but one day just stopped working. So with the new one I was happy, it was lighter, and seemed to work pretty good. That was until about 2 days ago when I returned home to find my son with his tool box out trying to see if there was anything blocking up the brush of the vacuum. He said it just stopped. I looked at it, we cleared the brush of a couple of strings. but it appears that one string had wound itself around the end of the brush to the point where it will no longer spin. If you turn on the vacuum it starts to smoke from where the brush is trying to spin. I tried to cut the string out, but it is so jammed around the edge of the brush that it is not going to come off. I will be heading out to get another vacuum this week. That makes three vacuums in less than 10 years. My parents have had their vacuum (another brand) for 20 years before it died. I don't have the funds to buy a super expensive vacuum, its just my son and I, so I guess I get to deal with the replacing factor every couple of years instead. Another Bissell for me? I am not finding a good reason why right now as I am looking at two dead paper weights in my living room.....

Vacuum is fantastic

I compared it to others that were a LOT more $$$. All did a great job cleaning my moderate thick carpet, testing with dirt, leaves and powder. Bissell onepass was less than a third of the cost of the other two highly regarded vacs I tested at my home. So it was an easy decision. easy to clean, although I wear gloves because you need to clean the filters when you empty.

This vacuum doesnt have a long enough hose, vacuum tips over if using hose. Very frustrating when trying to use hose and vacuum keeps falling over! I wish I wouldnt have bought this vacuum.

Sorry to hear you're not happy with the vacuum, Amy. If the hose is over stretched it could cause the vacuum to tip. We're going to send you a telescoping extension wand that should help!
