Poor suction

While I was deployed our vacuum broke, so my wife bought this one. Not even two weeks later the hose stopped working. She checked the hose for clogs and found none. I would not suggest this vacuum to others. Now that I am home she is asking about dyson vacuums, which I am not for, I like bissell but after this vacuum I don't know.
