Weekly vacuuming is easy, I only wish it had an easy to use handle to get it up and down the stairs. I would recommend this vacuum.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this model because of good reviews and having a 12 amp motor, knowing that there would be power to vacuum. I like that the model is lightweight and quieter than my previous vacuum. I have to get used to a non-retractable power cord but it is not a big hinderance. I have to set the vacuum height at 5, the highest, for my regular pile carpets. If set lower, one can hear the motor working harder. I am glad I don't have a deep pile carpet because I don't think this model would be the right choice for it. I have an indoor/outdoor carpet that I set at the 3 height setting, where I thought it would be lower. I would rate this vacuum a 7 out of 10 due to having to set the height setting higher than I thought compared to my previous vacuum. The bottom line is this model is very good at vacuum cleaning carpets.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worst suction I have ever had with a vacuum. I see from previous reviews that the standard answer is that is the fault of the filter. That can not be the case with mine. I have only used it less than 5 times. For example when I am vacuuming up litter around the cat litter box the vacuum seems to pick it up but the spits it back out. Also pulling the hose out to use other attachments is easy but getting it back in place, not so much.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I now have two Bissell products, and I really like the pet donation aspect. This was purchased for the one carpeted room in my apartment. I held off and used another, smaller product since moving into a place with carpet. What a difference! I'm a little ashamed to admit the canister was completely full after the first use. Guess that other product was just fluffing the carpet fibers.I used the hose to get all of the dust from the floor boards, too, and continued onto the hardwood, and everything worked really well picking up my dog's hair and toy bits, beach sand, and the usual dust along the walls. I haven't used it on my sofa yet, but I expect it to perform just as well particularly with the specific tool.
