I just purchased this vacuum today after my little red hoover caught on fire. (Yes, caught fire!) I am amazed at how much dirt this vacuum picks up. I couldn't believe how dirty my carpets actually were after vacuuming my entire living room 4 times with this new vacuum it was still filling up the dirt cup! I emptied the dirt cup 4 times and every time it was full of dirt and hair like debri. I think my little red hoover has not been working for quite sometime... I only hope that this new vacuum continues to work like this and doesn't loose it suction power in a couple of months. Great vacuum for a Great price I am very happy with it at this point in time. Thank you for a wonderful affordable vacuum.

belt problems

This product works well initially but after about a year the belt seems to always move along the spinning brush causing it to get auctioned itself and burn rubber literally. We have replaced the belt numerous times and still have this problem. We have a dog the filter does need to be cleaned more often than it said in the manual.

Thanks for your review. We will get you back to cleaning in no time. First, make sure you're using genuine BISSELL belts. Unfortunately, retail locations don't carry our genuine parts. We sure wish they would! If you've been using belts purchased from a retail store, I recommend purchasing our belts. Generic versions have not been tested in our machines and may not fit quite right, causing them to break easily. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very impressed with the cleaning prowess of this vacuum. I don't believe that you can buy a better vacuum for the money. I have a small cabin and two dogs and this vacuum is perfect for me. Does a good job on the tile foyer and is great on the carpets. I have had it over a month now and it is very easy to clean. Just a really solid vacuum for the money.

I purchased this vacuum a couple of weeks ago knowing from the price it was a lower end model. The suction is awesome on it, but it seemed the more I emptied the clear-view canister and cleaned the filter, the worse the dust escape got. The vacuum is entirely covered in dust and you can see and smell it in the air. Also, it is really difficult to open the canister to get to the foam filter. I am going to return it to the store. I will upgrade to a better Bissel.

Thanks for you review. It's great you love the suction with your Cleanview One Pass vacuum. We can save you a trip taking your machine back just with a few tips. The filters do need to be clean for good airflow. The foam filters are hand washable with mild soap. Just make sure they are dry before reinstalling. You may have a clog in the lower hose or upholstery hose causing all the dust to blow out. You can remove the access panel to check the lower hose for hair. With the upholstery hose off, we recommend taking a broomstick handle down the hose and push the debris that may be clogging.

I have owned other Bissell vacuums and have been happy with them. This one is the best! I recently downsized to an apartment with both carpet and wood floors. This vacuum does a great job on both. Plus, I love the fact that all the parts can be easily removed for cleaning and rinsing. I have two cats which generate a lot of fur and dander. This vacuum is great at getting it up. I also appreciate the retractable cord. Great vacuum, especially for the money.
