Great brewer

Have a Keurig K-cup machine in the office and wanted one for my home. Could not decide on k-cup or v-cup machine. Love strong coffee and even though always buy the dark blends the coffee never seemed as strong as I would like it. After a lot of research I saw that Keurig was releasing a new smaller Vue machine - the V500. Bought it March 17. Have used the machine for just over two weeks and simply love the machine. Coffee was stronger (used the strong setting) and hotter (197 degree setting). First cup takes a little time but subsequent cups ready almost immediately, and hotter than the first. The Vue system does in fact brew a stronger cup of coffee. Some of the dark blends do not even require the strong setting. Noise? No more so than any other brewer. Would definitely recommend the Vue system over the k-cup.

Love Keurig & Love the Vue

This is my second Keurig machine, the first being a K-Cup. My mom sent me this machine as a gift and I love, love, love it so far! The coffee tastes stronger and hotter using this Keurig than with my old K-Cup machine. I usually brew a 12oz cup on Regular and it tastes delicious (coming from a barista!). You can brew a full travel mug as well, but I would suggest getting the specific travel mug size Vue packs for that. I have only brewed coffee, though, so I don't know about hot chocolate or other cafe beverages. Also, the plastic Vue packs are recyclable! yay! The only con about this machine that I have noticed thus far is the lack of a reusable cup that you can fill with your own coffee and the limited availability of Vue packs in neighborhood grocery stores. I am sure this will change, though, since its still a new product. I almost gave this 4 stars for the two above reasons, but Keurig's astounding customer service makes up for any tiny cons. My Vue machine did not contain a complimentary variety pack when it arrived and so I emailed cust. service asking about it. They responded in less than 24 hours apologizing for the packing error and immediately sent out a new one. They then sent me a coupon for two more vue packs to make up for their error! Keurig Customer Service goes above and beyond - just like the coffee maker!

I don't consider myself extremely environmentally conscious, but I did not really like the un-recyclable design of K-cup pods. The V-pods address that. The use your own grinds options seemed like they defeated the purpose of simplicity. I've been using a coffee maker with built in grind hopper and non-heated insulated steel carafe. It makes great coffee but is a lot of work I don't feel like going through to make a cup a joe on the weekends which is the only time I'm home to make coffee. I've used K-cup makers and though great I like the new Vue maker better. The design is great and build quality is high. The touch panel controls are not perfect but work well and lead to my favorite part about the new system which is increased flexibility with more options for creating the perfect cup. More cup sizes to choose from to include travel mugs and brew strength selection are exactly what I would have requested if Keurig had asked me. I highly recommend the Vue and look forward to making many cups of delicious coffee and tea in my ownership of my new Vue.
Pros: Attractive, Easy to operate, Easy to clean

Programmable - but limited!

I love the Italian Roast and French Roast. The Vue brews a very smooth delicious cup of coffee if I brew it for an eight ounce cup/strong, better than any Mr. Coffee could brew. Unfortunately, the programmability of different size cups is misleading. I tried brewing 10 ounces/strong but it was much weaker. The travel mug Vue pakcs are great for 14 oz, not 16 oz. Hopefully, Keurig will remedy the problem with vue packs for each of the programmable sizes. The hot cocoa was a disappointment but that's not what I bought it for. I would like to be able to brew a cappuccino, unfortunately the Vue Pack Cafe Beverages that are currently available have received low ratings, so I won't waste my money. Keurig's answer to cafe beverages is another unit, the Keurig Rivo. I don't think consumers should have to invest in another single serve system. It is great to get a fresh cup of coffee within minutes, it just takes a little trial and error to find the right program that suits your taste.

Cons: Thin Or Watery Mouthfeel/Body, 10 Oz Cup Is Weak

liking my Vue V500

We have been very happy with our Keurig Vue V500. We had read some reviews about the pump not working but have not had any issues. Love the latte feature, different brewing sizes, strength and temperature settings. What really sold us on the machine was when we discovered you could buy the solofill V2 adapter. Now the machine could use the regular K-cups, regular coffee grinds, tea bags, loose tea leaves as well as the vue cups. We have used the adapter and it works great. Do not buy the solofill V3. It doesn't fit. There is a video about the solofill V2 online. We bought the adapter at a retail store a bit cheaper. This is a very versatile machine.
Pros: Exceptional/Interesting Flavor, Pleasing Roast, Pleasing Aroma, Smooth Taste, Not Bitter

I love the new Vue. I am not happy that we have to use a different K cup than the regular Keurig uses condidering I had a bunch of K cups ready to use that don't work in my new Vue. Other than that we are very pleased with everything. Love the frothing that this one does and the sizes that are available now!

I got my Keurig VUE500 from House Party and love it. Can't wait till my party. Best idea for coffee ever. Plus all the other drinks it does. I am excited.

The only con I can think of is that since this is a new product, there's not alot of availability of the Vue Packs in local stores, but I'm sure this will change with time. The coffee is delicious, hot, and just the right strength for me, as I like my coffee very strong. Also, I love that I can brew the perfect cup whenever I want, at the cup size and strength that I want, without having to worry about measuring or wasting the rest of the pot that I don't drink, since I'm the only one in the house who drinks coffee.
