Solid sound system, few minor quirks

I bought this system back in June of 2014. I took time time reviewing as I wanted to get completely familiar with the system and use it extensively. Once I got a few adjustments down it has become my favorite home theater system that I have owned. It does take a while to start up initially, but there is a quick start mode which shaves a few seconds. I did have a few issues at first, then I unplugged it and plugged it back in and no issues since. I tend to use the cinema studio sound setting the most, but even the default sound setting sounds pretty good.
Pros:
Great blu ray player
Stylish system and speakers
wireless rear speakers, no wires to run across the top or floor of the room
Can be set up with all front facing speakers
Room shaking Cinema setting, great for action movies
Great apps

It simply works as advertised

You can spend thousands on a sound system but for me, this fit the bill exactly. It gives the sound I want when I want it and if I wish to just use the TV speakers for routine sound, it's simple to change over without having several remotes to do the job. The DVD player has excellent picture quality. My TV is a Sony 4K that works perfectly with this sound system.

The sound and various categories (football, cinema, etc.) add to the movie or program experience. Set-up and calibration were easily done.

Super Sound

I bought this sound system in Nov 2014, and I definitely got the sound power and clarity I was looking for. I am a musician and this equipment definitely delivers. The 1200 watts of power takes the fear of blowing up your speakers away from your mind, and the subwoofer makes the room shake-awesome. It is thought out to handle the new 4K resolutions so it will keep me happy for a while.
The only complain I have is the CPU inside it; it can do everything like a smart device (Netflix, Hulu, etc..) but it is slow, you would think in this day and age with internet speeds of 100 mps, the systems would have a fast enough processor, specially a company as experienced and expensive as SONY. Also sometimes you have to reboot the machine to get it to do what you want. It has a speed mode that you can select to make it start faster but the switching between devices is still slow, and the internet browser is slow too.
One thing It's definitely worth mentioning is the home button on the remote; when pressed it will take you to a menu like a playstation console where you can select anything you want, I really like the channels they added on the Sony Entertainment mode, lots of interesting channels to watch that you won't find in Netflix. It is Bluetooth compatible, does fm/am radio, and it has 2hdmi in ports and one out port so you can add your consoles.
So overall a great! home theater system with enough power to handle everything. I would recommend it.

Spectacular product

I received this product as a birthday gift and i absolutely love it. It has great, even sound and multiple sound fields for different situations (movies, games, sports, etc). The speakers are sleek, discreet and the wireless rear speakers make setting up the system a breeze. The inputs and outputs are adequate for my two gaming systems and cable box. This system has great sound quality and great sounding base, I highly recommend it this surround sound system.

Replacement for Failed Product

Our original Sony Surround Sound/Blu-Ray system failed one month past the year warranty. We shipped it back to Texas (had a heck of a time finding a box that fit it. Finally used a USPS "Game Box". There was a DVD stuck in the machine. The repair center could not repair the system and so, for $119. we were sent this brand new upgrade and they did ecover our DVD!. We purchased an extended warranty this time just in case. It works well the sound is great and the controls easy to understand and use (except for the fact that the DVD cover seems to only be accessible by manually pushing a button?

Sounds like a $1000 System

First day I got this Home Theater System, someone called the police and I received a disturbing the peace ticket. Very loud and clear sounds like a 1000 dollar system.
