This solid state drive is so fast it outperforms my velociraptor 10k rpm hard drives. This ssd actually keeps up with my ram drive. This is my first solid state drive and I'm happy to have select Samsung for this product.
Pros: faster than light, small, compact

Upgrading to the Samsung SSD 850 EVO M.2 500GB is the best thing that ever happened for my laptop. Apps load blazingly fast. The increase in performance is immediately noticeable.
The only hassle is that it does not come with a M.2 mounting screw. And to my luck, my laptop also does not have a M.2 screw in the mounting screw hole of its M.2 slot. So I had to procure a separate M.2 screw which was a bit of a hassle.
Data migration was a bit tricky since the Samsung Data Migration Tool was not able to clone the recovery partition of my old hard disk. Kinda disappointed about that, but it's not much of a big deal since I was able to make a workaround by creating a recovery USB using Windows 10's "Create USB Recovery" app.
Overall though, I am very satisfied with the product. I'm never settling for those old, rattling, heavy hard disks again. Ever.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: screw not included

This has to be single best investment I have ever made into my PC. Finally got a new motherboard to replace an older unit and was lucky to have had the M.2 socket on the board. Had spent a lot of time re-installing my OS on my old SATA drive...but then I bought this SSD and in less than 30 min I was up and running with the new Evo drive...this drive is amazing. Can't wait to get another one...maybe I'll get a 1TB SSD, but for sure it will be a Samsung!

Couldn't be happier with my purchase

I had still been using traditional hard drives before now and had no idea what I was missing. A few months ago I built a new system based around an Intel 4790k CPU(with liquid cooling), 16GB 1866MHz memory, 2x GTX970 in SLI, and a plain old hard drive, a Western Digital 2TB Caviar Black that I had already owned a few years. I was well aware the HDD was the main bottleneck in my system but really underestimated how much it was holding it back from it's true potential.
When I installed the 850 EVO 500GB M.2, I figured I was do for a clean install of Windows anyways and wanted to try out Windows 10 so that's what I did. It's a hair longer now, but when it was a completely clean installation with nothing installed other than drivers, it booted to my desktop in 7 seconds. Compared to probably two minutes or more(never really timed it) on my previous Windows 7 installation. I was sold on SSD's right there. Even when running programs installed on my other hard drives, everything feels smoother and more responsive. Games load amazingly fast and there's no more occasional slowdowns as part of a map is loaded or the like. I plan to in the near future get another SSD and have everything other than movies, music, pictures, and the like on something solid state.
So basically, if you have a moderately decent system but still use a traditional HDD, get yourself an SSD. It'll feel like a new computer and like myself, you'll probably end up wondering why you didn't do so long ago.
Pros: Inexpensive, amazing performance, silent
Cons: i don't have one bad thing i can say about it

I wanted to go with a slightly faster m.2 SSD for my new build but the budget got in the way. That said, this one has been brilliant. My system loads so fast I don't have time to do anything else. access to my files is instant and long load times on games is a distant memory. For a balance of value, performance, and reliability, this is one fantastic choice.
Pros: Inexpensive

I installed this in my new Dell 8900 and am loving the speed. Boot up and Shut down are almost in the blink of an eye. My only complaint would be that it did not come with a screw to secure it in place
