Great 4K TV!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was an early adopter from 5 years ago, after all this time, this 4K HDTV still work flawlessly. The only bad thing is about the interface and how LG couldnt figure out a way to be able to update them to latest version, that's just terrible design.
Pros: Style/Design, Performance, Quality

First off, it's extremely heavy weighing in at over 170 lbs with the stand. You'll be sweating with 2 guys moving it onto your stand. But I like that it's got weight to it since it's a really nicely sculpted piece of electronics, solid.
Once I turned it on and dialed in a few of the settings, I was blown away buy the shear brightness, vividness, and contrast of the source material. It really is like having a gigantic retina display. 4k material is simply unbelievable and you just can't stop but stare at it. It even makes regular 1080p look fantastic.
I actually like the enclosed remote and will continue to use it even thought I have a dedicated universal for my gear. The 3D is incredible too. Best I've seen on a TV yet.
Since I record video in 4K, I wanted to have a reference standard monitor to view my material on and I couldn't be happier.
I highly recommend this display for those who are looking for the best at a reasonable cost.

Great picture & sound, Worst interface EVER

Overall the TV has a very nice appearance in just about any kind of room. The sound quality is so good you think its coming from a complete surround system and the picture when streaming YouTube etc. is about as perfect even using wireless as one can expect.... However, in LG's attempt to make a tv "user friendly" in actuality they have complicated things so much I, a so called Tekkie have a hard time with it. Just finding the setup, picture and sound menu's etc are next to impossible. The remote control leaves much to be desired.. looks like something a 3 year old would play with rather than that belonging to a sophisticated tv. It tries to operate like a Wii but is so difficult to enter letters or click buttons on the screen it takes a 5 star tv down to 3.. no joke. Last, tho updates are appreciated it really makes me wonder why the TV has updated itself twice and other programs on it many times also in the past few weeks we have had it around. Is there a hack for the GUI yet?
Pros: Performance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Picture quality is excellent. 4k resolution is excellent, I cannot see any lines at all.
Lots of bells and whistles.
Noticeable bass sound considering how small the speakers are.
Cons:
Could not connect to the internet. Needed a software update installed before successfully connecting to the internet
Remote control should be backlit for this kind of money.
When I play a widescreen blu-ray on an LG player, there are black bars at top and bottom using 16:9 aspect ratio

Bought this tv and love it got it in time for the Daytona 500. Has such a great picture have a hard time shutting tv off.

When purchasing a high end unit like this, you have fears of problems and issues that seem to have plagued other similar TV's. Fortunately, this exceeded all expectations and performs flawlessly, whether viewing action, or UHD content.

When watching a show that is shot in low light, ie. a cave, night filming, more shadows than highlights, or if the lights in a scene go out. There are areas on my screen that turn pixelated as opposed to sharper areas of the same screen. Oh, and yes I finally figured how to turn off that annoying Google "continue" startup screen. Other than that GREAT Tv.
