Our favorite gadget in the house!

I absolutely love our Roomba 980. I love how easy it is to get on my phone and through the app figure out what's wrong with it, set the times to clean, turn off when needed and order parts if/when needed and have step by step instructions at my fingertips. We have 3 kids under 7 so throughout the day there are snacks and food dropped in the house. We used to sweep daily plus vacuum when needed and now we wake up to clean floors and it doesn't take time out of my day. We would absolutely buy another one!

effective at dirt, but get damaged by long hair

These work great, but if you have long hair beware, it will easily damage these rollers. The hair gets wrapped around the rollers and cuts through the rubber.

Hi Blugras, We're glad that the Extractors are working well for you, but you do raise a great suggestion. Periodic maintenance for your Roomba and the brushes is important. The extractors are designed to be quick and simple to clean. Removing hair that may find itself wrapped in can help prolong their usefulness and make sure that your Roomba works best. Built up hair on the brushes can hinder their effectiveness and even damage the brushes. For some simple care steps please see the link below for some great tips.

My hair doesn't get tangled in these!!

I have fairly long hair and I lose A LOT of it around our house. It is everywhere. The hair gets wrapped around the roller in my regular vacuum and I need to clean it after every use which requires scissors and me taking it outside (but I don't clean it like I should). With these rollers, the hair tends to move toward the ends of the rollers. So I remove the rollers after each use and just slide the hair off the ends. FANTASTIC!!

It's a nice robot

Good product, although you need to have light for it to navigate. It gets lost or stuck enough to get annoying. It takes about 8 hours including return trips to the charger to clean 1500 square feet. It does Miss spots. Also remember to buy authentic Roomba Dirt extractor replacements. I replaced mine with aftermarket knock-offs and they only lasted 2 weeks before they were worn flat. The original authentic extractors should last at least 6 months. I will give it some credit though since my house is rather maze-like with a lot of obstacles. Overall it does pick up dirt pretty well and I would recommend it. I wish they would come up with a navigation system to where you could run it in a dark room though. It's a nice addition to start getting your home a little bit cleaner.

First Roomba one year now

I love this product and cannot imagine life without it. I have a pet and 3 small grandchildren but I just turn Cindy loose and she takes care of my house much better than I ever have. So convenient. Just have to keep an eye on her bin because it fills up rapidly. I bought Cindy in place of hiring housekeepers every two weeks. She paid for herself in two months. I also bought the little floor mopper and am considering getting the one that mops larger spaces. I am just purchasing a new set of roller extractors after a year. Long hair is a problem so I check the rollers frequently, take them out and clean off the ends where thread and hairs tend to wrap. I try to do the maintenance as recommended. Very easy to do. I use my little dustbuster to clean the filter often so do not have to replace it as often as recommended.

He is part of the family. I had horrible allergies cause the two dogs were shedding and dust was piling up everywhere. Within a week my allergies have improved immensely! When you first get the vacuum the dust bin will fill very quickly. Now that MarkyMark is cleaning daily/every other day I only clean the bin about every other use. It means my carpets are clean!!! Love this product. Also, so much dust under my bed. Mark takes care of it perfectly and regularly. My suggestion....cordless dyson and the roomba. You'll never need other vacuums.

Easily replaced my housekeeper

I owned very early Roomba models. The 900 series is an incredible improvement on every level. Love being able to start via the phone app when I leave the house and forget. My house has 80% less dust and my actual cleaning chores are minimal now. Every day I come home and it looks like the housekeeper just left. The unit is a bit noisy but the boost on vacuum power for carpets is worth it. I tried a lower series to save money but returned it and got this one. Well worth it! Unit is easy to clean and maintain too. The ability for it to charge and return to finish the job is incredible and a "must have" feature. I can't wait to see the next improvements they make!!
