Not Happy!!!

We purchased the stackable washer and dryer. We have had nothing but problems. Mother board went out, wiring issues, the clean washer cycle no longer works, and the unit is only 7 years old. We have spent over $1000 in repairs and parts. You may ask, why didn't we just replace it with a new machine. Unfortunately this model has been discontinued. So we now have a compatibility problem with the dryer. Which means we will have to replace both units. NOT HAPPY!!!

Most probelmatic washer I've owned

I can't stand this washer and honestly will probably never buy another Whirlpool product because of it. For starters...you can never keep the thing smelling fresh. Even frequently running the clean cycle and the unit still smells like mildew after a few days. Then the mechanical problems start to happen almost immediately after the warranty expires. There has been an expensive repair each year since. From water pump to main board to rubber boot. It's always something with this thing.

Died after 7 years

Needed major repair at seven years old. I expected a longer life from a Whirlpool. Repairman is hard to find and is extra expensive if the dryer is stacked on top. More cost efficient to replace than repair if stacked with dryer.

Lasted seven years - not good

This machine ran well while it lasted. However, it suffered a main bus B overload (a.k.a. rear bearing failure) - a terminal condition according to the applientologists. Not worth the cost of repairing. We use our machines fairly heavily, but seven years is NOT good performance. Even more so when the high purchase price is taken into account.

Awesome and Efficient!

My wife and I got this washer and dryer set back in 2007 and love how efficient it is. We have used this with 3 kids and our stuff since the day we bought it and have only had minor issues with the drain that needed to be cleaned out when some random baby sock ended up down there. This thing rocks! We can't praise the efficiency enough, especially using the HE detergents. If you are in the market, make this your choice.
