Best value for the money and made in the USA.

I chose this frig afer several months of review reading and what we needed in a replacement unit. I got the 5 year extended warranty with it because nothing lasts like they used to. Just wish GE didn't charge so much for the replacement water filters.

I luv the angle of the spicket for the water feature, alarm system (that you can silence) if you leave one of the doors open for too long, and the overall appearance of this GE model fridge. However, as I bought a spec home, this model was already a part of the package and typically the side by side freezer and fridge are not my favorite. I do not think there is enough space with this type of design. Overall, the quality is great and it is just the right size for our small household.

Beautiful and Spacious Refrigerator

We did not really need a new refrigerator. We had to replace a cook top and oven, both 30+ years old. We opted for GE stainless steel models. Then we convinced ourselves that it would be wise to replace the 14 year old almond-colored refrigerator with a top freezer compartment, too. We are so very glad we did. Our kitchen is not huge, so we thought a side by side would be nice because less room is needed for opening the doors, but we were concerned that the interior space would not be sufficient. Fortunately, we discovered we could accommodate a larger unit than we thought, so we opted for this one. We were also interested in a water and ice dispenser on the door. The GSE26GSESS is wonderful. It is spacious and well organized. It is beautiful, looks marvelous with the other new GE appliances. We love the on-the-door dispenser. It works perfectly, and it is so convenient. It is even tall enough to accommodate our ice bucket as well as a favorite container for mixing beverages. That was an unexpected surprise. We are impressed with the ability to instantaneously determine the temperature of the interior spaces. Our old refrigerator was billed as energy efficient when we bought it, but this larger unit is even more so. We could not be more pleased. We recommend it highly.
