Terrible product!

I purchased this to replace a GE laundry center that had the clutch fail after 3 1/2 years- a $850 repair. Since the same internals are used for Frigidaire as the GE unit I decided to try the Whirlpool.Wow, what a terrible product.It's flimsy, as is the standard for modern appliances, but is incapable of performing its essential function... It doesn't wash well at ALL. It is hands down the worst performing washing machine I have ever used. Attempts at HE and top load washing just don't belong together in the same appliance. To get anything clean I wind up doing 1/4 the amount of laundry per cycle compared to the GE model (which did its job just fine, BTW). Forget about doing large items, that just won't happen...I'm very disappointed with my purchase and hope to help others avoid making a mistake.

We just had our washer/dryer combo delivered 3 days ago to replace our older model. We got this size in order to be able to do larger loads. Little did we know that there is no control over the amount of water used in each load.The washer tub is 15" in height, but does not fill up with any more than 7" of water. The loads we put in now are half the size of what we could do with the older model.How is it supposed to save water if we have to do more loads for the same amount of laundry?I wish we had come to this site first and read up on other reviews before buying this product. We can't even fit our queen size sheets in all at once because they simply will not get wet and wash. Not at all suitable for a family.If this is HE quality, Whirlpool really needs to rethink how they produce it. What a waste of money.

Water level

I bought this washer/dryer because I thought I could wash my Queen size summer blanket in it. I only got 7" of water in the deep water wash cycle. I was told they recommend I take large items to the laundromat, which is what I was doing before I bought this 27" washer. I don't know how much water is in the regular cycle because I have used the deep water wash all the time. The instructions said to use smaller loads if the water did not cover the clothes, so I would not recommend this for a family.

Terrible washer- Leaves everything Dirty

Your clothes come out dirtier than when they went in. The agitator in the washer absolutely destroys your clothes. And the "energy efficiency" makes it so that so little water actually goes in the drum, that you can only do like acouple shirts and a pair of pants and thats it, pretty much one persons 1 day of clothes. How is that efficient?

Excellent Appliance

I've owned many Whirlpool appliances over the years and they just get better. They are reliable, affordable and dependable. I only get rid of the old so I can upgrade to the new. I'll be a customer for life!
