Great mid-level Fridge

We researched all the options for two years before investing in our GE GDE23ETEBB. We were looking for a freezer on the bottom model without water/ice in the door. This one was perfect for us. We've been happy with the purchase so far.

I needed a mid-size refrigerator which is tough to find. I had a French door refrigerator and didn't really like it. I find the one door more appealing. I like the interior design, a lot of space. I like the ice maker because it's enclosed. I had a problem with my previous refrigerator/freezer and the ice ending up on the floor of the freezer. Overall this refrigerator is a good buy.

deep butter compartment

Enjoying the top refrigerator. Easy to access. The sticks of butter fit in front to back so the compartment is very functional. Wish there was a dedicated spot for a tall wine bottle; I probably need to reposition bins or a shelf. The ice maker makes a lot of noise when it fills with water.

Love the freezer on the bottom, however...

I find the freezer a bit small. When the door has items on it, it doesn't close well. (It wasn't leveled when it was delivered.) I love that the freezer is on the bottom and I like the adjustable shelves.

Treat This One With Kid Gloves. . . .

Better yet, don't buy it! We have been renting a house for a little over a month. This refrigerator is brand new. Well, with the high-gloss door, it looks like it is years old. Before I cleaned the exterior door (the sides are textured; go figure), I checked to see what to use on it. I use(d) a micro-fiber cloth and Jubilee kitchen wax. It still has "scratches" from the circular motions I use when cleaning the door. It looks dreadful. I am quite anxious about what the landlady is going to say when she comes in and sees it, because she completely renovated this house, and has taken a lot of pride in what she has done.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
