Our GE Profile Advantium 120 Above The Stove Venting Unit Sadly Passed Away About a Month Ago.
Only thing it ever needed was lightning replacement a couple times.
After battling with home warranty we are finally getting another Advantium.
The reviews of the newer version are lukewarm.
I think the original was far more aesthetically pleasing. But hopefully the new one can live up to the name of the original.

confusing knob and button text

I didn't even know this had a convection mode, since there isn't any clearly labelled button indicating that feature. Most of the buttons have misleading or confusing terminology, so I had to paste on a label near the one popular button "Micro Express" which means "30 seconds."
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This product offers versatility of cooking methods

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Advantium is amazing with its' versatility of cooking both like a microwave and an oven. I am able to cook pizza, appetizers with the speed of a microwave, but an oven-like result. The food is crisp and baked:It is not soft and mushy like a microwave would cook such items.
It does it with out heating up my entire kitchen. A+

Great features.

We fell in love with this product because of all the features. Unfortunately we've had issues for the last few years. The other warming options stopped working only allowing us to use the 30sec incriminate. And I do find this oven hard to clean. For the money I expect it's life span without problems to last longer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I loved my Advantium but it just quit and no parts are available. Like the previous post I need something the same size because it fills the space above my stove. I also loved the options for cooking. What is out there?

This microwave is "different". Different is not always good, especially in a simply device like a microwave. Like most people, I don't cook a frozen pizza or cook vegetables in microwave. I just want to warm up cold food or water.
The control panel is very weird. There is an "express" button, which is basically "add 30". So you can either use in the 30 increments or use the dial to adjust. If either of those control break, you are screwed. Still not as bad as the Dishwasher from the same series.

We love this microwave. It has worked for our family for 19 years. We like the knob for easy setting and the actual raised, round buttons give it a unique attractive style. The only complaint is there was no way to clean the oven coils when cheese in a jar bubbled up and flew into the coils above. We would buy this exact model again if still available. So many models look the same with no distinctive style.
