This is a nice upgrade over my previous S3. The battery lasts better, camera is an improvement, the whole experience is so much better.

Good Phone bad software

When I got it new, the phone was great. It did everything I wanted and even things I didn't expect, like the in depth features of S Fitness. However after a major facelift update, my pone became less my friend and more a neccessary annoyance. I don't think Samsung understands how irritating it is to the center "home button," and get a Google search bar, instead. And the times when you hit it constantly, trying to go to your home screen and you get that Google search bar, over and over and over again?
Let's just say that I'm glad I wrapped hundreds-of-dollars investment in otterbox, because it did get thrown.
The software updates also had another effect. They act more like dead weight bloatware than actually usable apps. These mandatoryupdates have slugged my phone down to the pre-paid windows phone I had when I was working minimum wage.
Good phone. Bad long term.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have had this phone since last year and it never ceases to amaze me. The camera is like no other, clearer pictures than anything I've ever seen. Awesome features like air view, and beautiful lock screen animations accompany this awesome device. I never want to put it down, because it tracks how many steps I take, my heartbeat, stress level, weight, sleep management and even the food I eat if I choose to record those things. Overall amazing phone. I love androids emojis more than the apple version. Android makes messaging come to life.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, amazing camera, beautiful sounds messaging and ring tones, never fails me, waterproof
