Being a child of the 21st century, I'm well acquainted with the wide variety of phones on today's market. None of them hold a candle to this super-phone. It's absolutely astounding. Beautiful display, flawless mechanics, and memory to spare. Granted, my battery is not what it used to be but I can just buy another one instead of buying a whole new phone! I love it. My little brother is ditching his sad little iPhone for the Galaxy S5 and after seeing what this baby can do, both my parents are considering leaving team iPhone.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: back facing speakers, limited battery

Still getting used to it

I've had iPhones since 2007. This is my first Samsung. I like it and am still getting used to it. I simply cannot get passed the fact this phone not let let me know when I have a voicemail. Such a basic yet essential function that is causing great problems in my life. Unless you can remember to randomly check your vm you have no idea you have one. I try to read online how others have overcome this problem and those solutions aren't fixing the problem.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display
Cons: no vm notification

Probably the best Android phone, but it has many shortcomings.

Probably the best Android phone in the market in the 4.7-5.1 inch range. Unfortunately, the touchwiz interface is sluggish and the fingerprint sensor is not as robust as Apple's.
There should also be some way to utilize the USB port to play music similar to the ipod interface, to make migration from an iPhone less painful.
I had battery life issues, which I believe is due to a bug in Android Kit Kat 4.4.2, but we'll probably never know since ATT does not even have 4.4.4 in the horizon.
The speakerphone is not very good since it crackles.
USB Charging is extremely slow, needs a power adapter to effectively charge it.
Samsung should also allow widgets on the lock screen so I can add the Torch/Flashlight on it.
Otherwise, the display, IP67 rating, and the price/expandable storage is excellent.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight, dust/waterproof, removable/expandable storage
Cons: Did not meet expectations, no ipod interface, usb charging extremely slow, fingerprint sensor not as robust as touchid, speakerphone crackles, unable to add widgets to lock screen, sluggish interface
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

S4's better version

Thanks Samsung for this new galaxy. Had the S4 which I thought was the best phone that I could have used.
The S5 continues to set the bar for other phones to try and achieve. GOOD LUCK to them. My wife has an I-phone and is so jealous of my S5, especially the picture quality.

I love Samsung Products. Even though a little pricey, they last for years. Samsung products are the only products I own that has lasted more than two years and counting. Great Job Samsung. I would recommend the Samsung Galaxy S5 to anyone.

Charging port cover falls off on its own and it voids the warranty till you mail it to samsung for them to fix it when att will tell you that its a known issue and if it has other issues you cant get it fixed till the cover is fixed

I had the galaxy s3 before this phone..let me tell you its fast...anyone thinking of getting it should think no more and pick it up you will love it as I do...
