I have just recently moved from the East coast to the mid West. My previous carrier had very bad service here. I could not keep service, it was always searching for service, constantly lost calls and was just frustrating. I had been with that carrier for 15 years. It became clear I needed to switch carriers. I also switched phones. I was happy with my phone, but .... I LOVE this phone! The Galaxy S5 is such a good phone. The features are amazing, it has great service, and overall good feel. I have not lost a call yet! The camera is super quick and takes very good pictures. Out of 15 years of cell phones, this is the best phone I've owned yet! Jan
I've had my Galaxy for about 2 months and have found it to be an incredibly sophisticated and configurable phone. I had an iPhone before and compared to my Galaxy the iPhone is like a toy. The Galaxy's screen is beautiful, bright and easy to view.
I'm still learning about my wonderful phone, always finding new features. I have recommended it to friends and family.
Cons: just a little big and a little heavy, not sure if issue with my phone but battery drains, in some ways too sophisticated
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was always hooked on the iphone because of my use of itunes and familiarity with the product, but the more friends I had who got androids, the more I saw the flaws of the Iphone. My Iphone had many faults that I will not go into, so when the opportunity presented itself I made the switch. But I had no clue what android phone to get. I ended up going for the Galaxy S5 because almost every friend or expert I asked said it was the best phone on the market. I was not disappointed. It is durable (in the case I got at the store), the water proofing comes in very useful at times, and it is far faster than the iphone. It also takes the best pics I've ever seen off a smartphone and the large screen is nice. I also love being able to download apps off of the internet not only through the phone itself like iphones do.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is an absolutely beautiful device. It is light weight and the screen packs glorious color saturation and fidelity. The HD screen is astounding for picture and video playback. With additional features like the heart rate monitor, Samsung has gifted this hardware with that special set of "extras" one would expect but still be surprised with on a flagship device.
However - the item that steals the show is the camera! The photos and videos that this device can take surpass even my DSLR! Samsung has crafted that unique "magic" that can really make a picture POP! It still astounds me I can get photos and high definition video of this quality from a device this small!
My only regrets with this device were around 3 items: 1) Touchwiz - The device was simply too overburdened by the Touchwiz interface. Coming from a stock Android user there were refreshing enhancements, but the OS lagged because of the Touchwiz bulk. I understand that there is a forthcoming version of the Galaxy where the system dedicated RAM has been increased which should alleviate some of the issue. 2) Carrier bundled bloatware. I couldn't stand having GIGS of my precious space devoured by applications that have no value, I will never use, and I cannot remove. 3) Integration with some "unique" messaging platforms. Not really a fault of Samsung, but made the solution difficult to use.
Cons: bloatware, performance problems with limited system ram
I would recommend this to a friend!

Weather it is the iP67 certification or the finger scanner or even the slew of multi-tasking abilities, there is just so much to love about the Samsung Galaxy S5. Especially the new design improvements. All the amazing enhancements to this phone make it the best phone of the year!
