Ok, I know that a lot of people just say what they think you want them to write but I am completely serious when I say best phone I have ever owned! Well not only done I own this phone but I have gotten one for my Mother and one for my Father. They have both and so do others ask me what I think that they should get. I have always suggested Samsung products because of the consistent impeccable quality!
Do to a faulty phone, I was sent another. I've had this phone for a few years of great usage. I't old now, but still works great. Time to upgrade though.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: speakers a not too great
I would recommend this to a friend!

Picked it up on the 11th, the day of release so I have not had time to explore all of the features or test the durability over time but so far I have had a great experience with my new Galaxy S5. This was purchased as an upgrade for my broken skyrocket (S2) and a 3GS that I have been using while I waited for the 11th. Two features which I love and needed in a phone are the removable battery and the expandable storage. The water and dust-resistant design is a huge bonus for me as well.
First, this phone is BIG! It took a few hours of getting used to because compared to my S2 and especially the 3GS it's a monster. It does seem much thinner than my 3GS and even the old S2 and seems to be fairly lightweight for its size (kitchen scale says 145g). If you have smaller hands there is a setting to resize the screen for one-handed operation so I wouldn't let the size scare you away. Also, it seems to fit into the back pocket of my jeans just fine despite its large size. To me, the plastic and leather combo looks and feels solid and I do not find myself needing anything more.
The phone seems very quick to respond when opening, closing apps or changing screens. The screen is bright and looks great and the default auto adjust seems to do a good job of adjusting the brightness according to ambient light. The phone was easy to turn on and set up. I thought I would be switching to my old launcher (Nova) right away but I don't mind the new TouchWiz launcher. I can see myself using TouchWiz for awhile then making the switch to try it out. As with all AT&T subsidized phones, my big issues are with all the per-installled provider apps which I do not and will not ever use. Samsung does make it fairly simple to disable these apps so you do not see them; however, they cannot be uninstalled. It also came installed with a magazine app attached to the homescreen. Since this is something I do not see myself using, I am happy to report that it can be disable very easily: go to Settings, under the Sound and Display header click Home screen, there you will be able to turn My Magazine on/off. I did enjoy access to the freebee apps through "Galaxy Gifts" but I am having an issue actually getting the 6 months of free Wall Street Journal deal. Not a deal breaker by any means but I thought it was funny that it was listed then doesn't tell you how to actually get it without paying $20something a month (making it not free).
The sound coming from the built-in speakers seems ok, I haven't used them much so I will have to post an update in a few weeks. The voice quality on calls seems great, it's very loud and clear. I have not tried the headphones that were included in the box but they look nice, not that that does anything for sound quality. In terms of phone cameras, I have been very impressed with the quality and responsiveness. The first picture I took was of a coworker and both of us were amazed at how quickly the camera fired. On the Skyrocket I had some time in between the click and the actual shot, not anymore! It seems to take decent pictures in various lighting conditions but again, I have not had it long enough to fully test everything. I am definitely excited about the camera and think it will be fun to play around with. The video seems excellent too, shoots 1080 (and greater) and produces decent video... I will play with this more in the next few weeks. Definitely looking forward to a 128 SanDisk with the huge files it produces.
A feature that I forgot about until I got home and was checking out my new purchase was the IR blaster. While I think it's kind of goofy, I did set it up and use it with my Samsung TV and it seems to work great. I am not sure that I will be using it regularly but if I sit down and am too lazy to get back up and walk the five feet to grab the TV remote this could be a life saver... Speaking of lazy, I like the S Health app and associated features. While I am not a runner or a really health concerned individual, I do go to the gym every once in awhile, go for walks, and my work actually requires hard physical labor. My girlfriend was trying to get me to get an UP band so we can compare steps. The built in pedometer does a great job at counting steps and I was able to avoid having to buy a UP band. I can also take my heart rate, which she can't do with her band. All of the S Health features are cool if you are into tracking health related things and from what I can tell they seem to work well but they aren't something that I would look for in a phone.
Like I said earlier, I have only had this phone for a few days so these are just some first impressions. I don't feel I have used it enough to test the battery life or all of the features. I am loving it so far and will give it a 5 star review. I will post back after a few weeks of solid use and see if I can add anything.
Without a doubt.......This is the best phone ever. Definitely took some getting used to. My friends with other phones are very jealous.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!

This phone is simply amazing. I previously had a galaxy s3, and this galaxy s5 was a great upgrade choice. This phone is very simple and easy to use.The display is stunning, pictures are amazing, and the battery life is simply outstanding. I can get by for 2 days on a single charge even with some pretty heavy use at times.Ultra power saving mode was a must-have for me. You can get by 24 hours with only 10% battery left. You can still make calls and send text messages while on ultra power saving mode. The build quality is excellent and very durable. The fact that this phone is waterproof makes it even better. With this type of phone on the market, I can't believe that iPhones even still exist. I would recommend this phone over any other phone on the market. Hands down the best smartphone available today. Two thumbs up samsung.
