The Galaxy S5 does not disappoint

So far, this has been the best phone I've owned. I'm not surprised. I had the original Galaxy S and it still has a better looking display than every phone I've used since. I still keep it as a Spotify player and the battery finally gave up, so that only took 5 years. I don't think anyone is making better hardware than Samsung right now. Apple is good hardware but I don't play in their world because I like to control my device, not the other way around :)
The only issue is occasionally apps are killed (Spotify usually) when I have been using the phone allot. Not sure why this happens as available RAM is fine at the time. But that was all day every day on my LG Volt. I had to reboot twice a day for my commute in order to use GPS and Spotify at the same time.
I have Spotify going via Bluetooth all day, with projectm (visuals) as my live wallpaper at HD resolution, 60 fps and it never stutters. I could never do this on any previous phone. And the battery lasts all day, but I charge up during my comment just in case.
One day, I was on the phone and it rebooted in the conversation. I was poking around trying to find an email with information needed for the call. Ironically, I was on the phone with Samsung technician support. But that was regarding a tablet repair, not the S5. Since then, it hasn't happened again, but I don't talk on the phone much. I tend to push my devices to the limit and this one has performed great and this is also my first experience with Android 5.0 which is a huge improvement.
The only thing I wish Samsung would write into their code is a way to adjust the automatic brightness levels. Even the lowest setting is way too high driving at night. I could use Lux, as I have before, but I don't see why this isn't easily accomplishEd.
One thing that really was cool was the ability to increase the touch sensitivity. Of course it is fine the way it comes, but I bought the heavy duty waterproof case which has a panel over the LCD. By turning on the extra sensitivity, the extra clear panel over the Super AMOLED, I do not notice any problems.
I'd give this 4+ stars.... Technolgy in consumer electronics is moving ahead so quickly, nothing gets time to mature. Maybe one day we will have completely stable devices, but we are so far better off than we were when I started on Android running froyo. Samsung has the install base to make their custom code fill in the gaps where Android fails, so they got some good programmers. And with Google Now and Inbox along with the new calendar app, I find I need very few non-google apps for every day use. Just my bank stuff and amazon, etc.
Great phone and I got it for free with 2 year agreement at AT&T (yes, you can still do that if you know where to look on their website).
It gets the job done. It has a long lasting battery and the brightness can be really high or really low. This allows me to use it in the daylight or in a classroom.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Received this phone when my galaxy s3 broke. Never really liked the phone to begin with. They replaced it with the galaxy s5 and what a big difference. Nice phone and had lots of features that I've not had before.
This is a better than average phone, not only because of the 16 mp camera, or the heart rate sensor, but so much of the software can be used to its maximum potential. Although the build of it is almost less than sturdy, the water resistance makes up for it.
The galaxy s5 has more than enough feature to take care of business, personal a d recreational uses. There are plenty of apps that are capable with the phone and I very much respect the skill of the designers of this phone. Extreme talent I say had been out into the creation of this device. Yes, there could be Improvement of some software features but overall this phone is near perfect.
