Lumia 1020 is the best SmartPhone Camera ever

I'm from Brazil and as soon as 1020 was launched here I told me that I'd buy it. I bought it 3 months after it's release in Brazil. I have no regreats at all... The only thing that I'd love to see in WP is to WP talk more and better with Windows PC. I mean, send sms from my PC or even control my WindowsPhone directly from my PC (everything)...

There are some positive points in design.

I think the design of this product is very good, specially because of a correlation between the software and hardware in its rectangular design. I think there should be improvement in UI and add some features to it. I also suggest that to create limited type of products for holding up the quality.

I love my L1020. I really do. The camera captures great details and WP is really user friendly. But there is a few things one should know: - Despite the great quality, photo colors are warmer than reality, despite all customization one can do. - You can set your phone to take unprocessed pictures, but in DNG format instead of RAW. - It's almost impossible to do a full backup. One can't save it in a computer, only in the cloud, and it often fails (google "WP backup 96%") - It's common sense, but the app store not only lacks apps, but the apps down there are not updated as frequently as they are in the Apple's and Google's store (for instance, Waze had its last update in Feb/13)
Is it still worth it? Sure, but keeping in mind that you'll have really nice features and some pretty annoying things to deal with.

Great phone if you didn't break the screen

This is a really nice phone.
However the design leaves a lot to be desired.
Bulge at the back means the phone cannot be left on many surfaces.
Screen cracks easily - Microsoft will not fix it, and neither will anyone else.
on a side note it's amusing that I could not fill out this survey using IE9 on a Windows 7 PC, had to fire up that trusted Chrome to fill this form out. Seems even Microsoft does not even support their own products.

Awesome Pictures, Great Phone

This has been a great phone. Windows on phones continues to improve. My only questions and hesitation are: where is the 2014 Holiday Season updated flagship models? Where is the push to market the Windows App ecosystem? Where are the top notch accessories, including cases.
Pros: Personal, Business, photography

An amazing device with only three things missing: faster processor, microSD slot, bigger battery

I've had a yellow 1020 for about a year now and it is the best phone I've ever had, (other than my old HTC Touch Pro 2 which holds a special place in this nerd's heart#. Windows Phone 8.1 is solid, but there are parts of it which are choppy on the older S4 pro processor. For the most part you won't even notice it. What you will notice #especially if you're a big music/movie fan) is that 32 gigs is not nearly enough storage for all of your music, videos and ultra-amazing photos you take with the 41mp beast of a camera. The camera itself is outstanding, as one would expect. The only downside, is that it, and the older processor eat battery. I can get 3/4ths of a day on a charge now, and as the battery isn't removable, I have to charge it every afternoon. That's fine when I'm in the office, but if I'm out in the field, I've got to pack an external battery. This phone is a solid pick-up. I'm stoked to see the next version.

top of the line camera and a fantastic os

Yes yes, everyone knows that the camera is the bomb (and it certainly is). But the OS has also matured so much it's officially in the game (maybe market share doesn't reflect that#. I've been an early adopter to WP and Android and although both oses were fine to begin with, they're both in the stages of refinement now #WP more for features and android for UI#... Both very capable and quite nice looking. It's really a preference thing but make sure you've tried different oses before you pick or hate.
Some pluses for the 1020: - excellent battery life #mah not comparable to android/ios... Just look at the extra juice you get from HTC one m8 on WP or android. Same hardware, huge difference in battery life) - super pairing with battery/camera grip. A must if you got this phone for the camera. - a nice portable size if you're not into big phones. Vibrant amoled screen as well. - Nokia dropable/durable.
