Excellent big screen ultra high def picture

This model is very good in picture quality , features and capabilities. There are numerous controls and settings that can help make a perfect picture for any room. The size is amazing and a requirement for 3D and appreciating the ultra high def resolutions. The web access and SmartHub are some of the best features across any make of TV and have very quick response. The digital tuner was even a great feature with sensitivity I have not seen in any other TV if needing to use over the air reception. Finally the ability to be upgraded through the Evolution adapters will be great in case of future improvements.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color

Great static picture - horrible motion

I spent over 30 minutes tweaking the picture and it looked great but NONE of the motion settings I could change - turning off motion control, selecting different levels - it didn't matter. The motion on this is far worse than some LED TVs and dreadful compared to plasma. Quite a downgrade from plasma, no matter how crisp the picture.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: bad motion
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

purchased instead of setting up a projector and screen in a large open room.
Absolutely outstanding picture quality. Sound system in this TV can be delayed to better match my media sound system making it in a sense the ultimate center channel.
OMG what a great TV.
Make sure you do your homework and purchase the 'Samsung' 240hz refresh rate and Samgsung back lit LED screen NOT the off brand 120hz side lit modulation screen.
( Difference is cheaper / lower price)

The Samsung panel is a little more expensive but worth every penny when you do a side by side compassion.
Do your homework when buying big screen LED 4KUHD Televisuons from any manfacture - I learned a lot in 3 days running up to my purchase.
Beware of off brand panels and buy the fastest refresh rate possible to reduce blurring images when they move quickly.
LED TV's are most susceptible to this.
Samsung mastered it.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable, picture like your inside the video

Bang for your buck

I returned my 78 inch curved tv for this monster of a tv. All I have to say is wow. This tv is amazing it's large and crisp at the same time. I will no longer go to the movies.
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: no one connect

The hu8550 is a great 4k tv though I do not believe it makes 1080p content look any better, native 4k does look great and when more stuff becomes available in 4k I'm going to be very happy. Also the sound quality is great.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color
