[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well I needed a refrigerator that was exactly 33 inches wide as I have a space limitation,I replaced my old refrigerator with the exact same model only 17 years later! Good for the money.. but no bells and whistles... must admit the previous was made with sturdier materials.. that said it’s a good refrigerator But just basic..
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i bought this refrigerator specifically because i wanted a bottom freezer in white and that product is hard to find. i love the refrigerator/freezer but it seems to be extremely cold even on the warmest setting. also i hear a ticking noise, perhaps it's the defroster, i don't know. food does stay fresh.

My Second Amana Refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator a month ago. It is white as was my previous one. I was disappointed that it did come with ice cube trays, no shelf liners and no butter dish. The quality of the outside finish had diminished, it's not as rich as the previous model was. Seems that today we pay more for less and that is extremely sad for America. The under shelf drawer was cracked and I am still waiting for the replacement to arrive.

Okay concept, not so good on actual usable space

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this unit because we had an Amana for the past 15 years, which was quite reliable. The older unit was standard Freezer on Top model. The newer unit is about 2cubic feet larger volume, but frankly it's less usable space. We have had to move a number of items formerly stored in our kitchen fridge/freezer to our basement freezers because they just dont fit in the new unit. Frankly, I'm disappointed. As a guy that's done some product design myself, I can suggest that the new unit was likely designed by a guy, and not by someone that actually uses the thing every day.
More background; I was part of a team that originally imported the Vestfrost units to the USA. I actually have some experience with completely new fridge/freezer formats. I was able to get used to the Vestfrost and make the space work, despite it being a considerably smaller volume than typical US units. Sorry to say that this Amana layout is just not as practical as the older model; more volume, less usable space. No wonder we have to import tech support.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Had an Amana w/ same configuration for 20 yrs. that we loved.
For unknown reasons, they made this model about 2" less deep and 2" taller. The result is we had to make changes to fit it in the space in our kitchen and there is MUCH less usable space in it, door shelves, drawers and shelf space all suffered from this silly redesign. The one positive is that the bottom freezer top shelf now pulls out (but they made the bottom part baskets, again less usable space, although easier to access.) Don't understand the need to try to "improve" on something that was working well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Refrigerator has a knocking noise when it 'kicks in to cool'. Seems to work fine but I am concerned about the knocking noise. Also, door will not stay at open position without opening all the way and hitting wall, off balanced perhaps.

We bought the previous iteration of this fridge 10 years ago. We loved it. Still looked good as new when the compressor broke and we were advised that it'd be cheaper to replace than repair. The new model cost more than its predecessor and is inferior in every way. Regret the purchase.
