Changed my cooktop from a smooth downdraft electric to this gas downdraft. I love going back to gas. The surface of the cooktop is as easy to clean as my previous cooktop, however the burners are quite heavy and the downdraft is also heavy and I wonder how long the rubber seat under it will last.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Difficult installation

The burners work well and the 3 different burner ratings provide flexibility. The metal grates raise the pots 2 inches from the glass plate, which is inconvenient for shorter people. The metal grates stay hot for a long time which can be a safety hazard. The black glass top is exceedingly difficult to clean. The knobs are flimsy. This unit replaced a 2006 GE Profile (central downdraft) yet installation was a nightmare: (I) the rectangular exhaust fan outlet is far too low (5" from bottom of cabinet) and only 4" from the cabinet door, so I had to design and build my own sheet metal duct to connect the fan exhaust to the vent line; (2) the unit is not as deep as its predecessor, so the rectangular hole in the granite was a bit too big (leaving a constant worry that the glass may crack).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great stovetop!

I replaced a 20 year old gas GE Profile cooktop with this updated model. It works like a dream. I love that one eye can be turn down for perfect simmering. The enclosed gas burners make cleaning a breeze. This stovetop has 3 fan speeds-a great addition.
This is a nice looking upgrade to my kitchen! Love it.

Why did I wait so long ?????

Order was received and we installed it in place of a electric Jenn Air cook top. Literally no majr inssues in the swap, a challenge to install the downdraft ducting ... but not an unexpected challenge!
Why or why did we wait so long to go back to gas? Love the control that only gas can give, and the grates and downdraft vent for this model make this cook top a joy to use. Also ordered the cat iron griddle and are rediscovering all the great experiences of pancakes, bacon and eggs made with precision control.
If you are replacing an existing unit, retrofiting electric for gas, or putting it in for the first time, do not wait. Do it now. You will thank yourself daily for the great experiences.

Out of the available down draft gas 30 inch cook tops, this is the best looking, easiest to clean and performs well. Fan should be variable speed and quieter.

Beautiful but...

Cermanic glass top shows everything and needs to be cleaned frequently. I guess i asked for it in picking out the black Cermanic top. But it sure looks nice. Also burners burn true with no yellow in flame.

Cooktop downdraft

We installed this unit a couple months ago and love it. The downdraft feature works well, without having a big hood hanging over our island. Love the burner features and ease of cleaning the cooktop.

I have only had it in service a little over a month, but so far, am very pleased with it. The only thing I am trying to find out, is how to make the grates clean as being dark,
